What is up with all of the refurbs?

I just read Matterhorn is going down until the fall and it seems many other attractions have been or are going down this summer. What ever happened to the winter rehabs? With huge crowds coming in October, and multiple attractions potentially being down then, what is Disney thinking ?????

They have to refurbish the rides sometime... and shutting down half the park in February doesn't seem to work out so well (although that's still the most refurbishment-heavy time of year)... I don't know what "multiple attractions" are expected to be down in October, though?

They did a lot this winter and probably didn’t want to have even more down. And I am sure they want everything in tip top shape for the opening of Star Wars next summer.
