I went on this a long time ago when I was younger and to me it was so boring! It was like 45 minutes long, most of it being a movie and then 5 minutes of dinosaurs. I haven't seen it since Ellen has been involved, so I was just wondering what it is like now, and if its better and still lasts as long? Thanks.

Its pretty much the same (I did not see the older version though) Sounds like the same format....movie then ride thru the dinosaurs. It's a good ride to sit and relax and get out of the heat though. It scared my nephew though (5 YO) So I don't know if its a good ride for small children.

You have a good memory; it is in fact 45 minutes long! You might find it boring, but it is relaxing. It helps if you don't hate Ellen, and if you like Jeopardy and Bill Nye the Science Guy. I enjoy it and think it is definitely improved over the previous version.

Cranium Command at Wonders of Life next door is a lot shorter and a lot funnier, and my nominee for most underrated attraction at WDW.

The addition of Ellen DeGeneres is an improvement in the sense that it is a little funnier and slightly more entertaining. However, you are right that it's only 5 minutes of dinosaurs and the rest of the 45 minutes are still too long and boring. I personally hated this ride and felt it should be completely overhauled. However, on a hot day it is a good way to rest and cool off, and children will like the dinos without being scared.

I enjoy the opening movie with Jeopardy and Ellen, then when the whole thing starts to move, I take a little nap.

It's so wonderful to get off your feet for 45 mins!

I also find several other rides/attractions do this to me - Hall of Presidents I've never see all the way through becuase I"m snoozing!

I can't imagine anyone not liking the dinosaur part. I always found it absolutely captivating ! I was always in total awe of it.
I wish there was more to the dinosaur part.

I think the movie with Ellen and Bill Nye is just " OK ".
As Bill Nye describes "The Big Bang" to Ellen you just might want to have ear plugs handy. I put my ear plugs in at the start of the movie.

As others have said, it's a great place to get out of the heat and off your feet for an extended period of time. It's time to replace Ellen for something new. :D

Personally I think it is one of the better attractions at Epcot. I enjoy all of it - Ellen, the ride, and the film footage.

It's one of my favourites at Epcot. If you like Ellen's humour, you'll like this revamped ride. I find it much better than the original version.

I enjoyed it... however, I'm not sure my children would. They would probably be bored with the long beginning part and then the younger two (or atleast the youngest) get scared by the dinosaur part. :(

Having been to both, the original (several times) and the newer one (several times) I want to go on record saying that the new version is soooo much better that it isn't even possible to describe. The original was a 45 minute commercial for Exxon and was boring, boring, boring. I only used it to get out of the sun and nap a little between loud noises.

I can appreciate that some people don't like Ellen. I don't think most of their admitted reasons are really the problem but, hey, without tunnel vision, what have you got. The new program made the story line interesting and, in most cases amusing and fun. Ellen isn't the only one in it. There is Bill Nye, Alex Trevek, and Jamie Lee Curtis to name a few. Yes, it is longer than most attractions but I have heard many complaints about rides not being long enough, so it was never a problem for me. JMHO!

I agree with you Jill, while my son is staring at the Dinosaurs I close my eyes, I reopen them when we stop for the final movie sequence. I enjoy movie part much more than the Dinosaurs.

I like this attraction and do it at least once on every trip. ;)

Have fun!!
