It was recommended to me earlier and when I looked at the site I thought it was a book. Now I see another thread saying it was something they signed up for? :confused3

Can someone here explain to me how it works and what the reviews are?

Thank you!

You might search these boards for some of the recent threads on TGM. I had one going last week before, well, I signed up for TGM! It is a website where you can buy an Automated Vacation Planner. It's fairly personalized but includes a great deal of reading. Many here consider it an alternative (or compliment) to The Unofficial Guide.

So far, I'm glad I did it; I have rearranged our trip b/c of his advice.

Hope this gets you going.

I signed up and it was/is a bit confusing at time and lots of reading! BUT... I like the advice and have made changes. I am glad I did it, mousesavers or a site like it gets you a discount.

good luck

I would also recommend TGM. I signed up for it last August for our trip. I find the site to be a bit confusing and at the time I thought I would get a print out touring plan customized for me. You do get sample tour plans for each park and customized recommendations depending on what you would like to do/see, but there is a lot of reading. You sort of need to customize your own touring plan based on what he recommends.

We used his recommendations for our trip at the end of August, and never waited at any rides. What I did was read everything I could on the site about what we were interested in doing, and printed out the sample tour plans to bring with us. Some of his recommendations, I was a bit hesitant, but in the end I am glad we went with them. We only had 4 days at WDW and wanted to make the most of them ~ we did not regret following the tour plans from the site.

there is a fee...I paid $21.95, but sometimes you can get discounts at Mousesavers.com or at themouseforless.com

There is currently a discount on mouseforless.com I just used and it brings the price to 18-19.00. Don't get too frustrated with all the reading at first and it all comes together in the end.

I will only say this: He's got a no-questions asked money-back guarantee. That's how good of a product he has -- it's worth it. Additionally, since he and his staff are in the parks virtually every day, he's quick to update when something closes, or something new opens. It's a lot of reading, but an informed consumer is always at an advantage!

::yes:: I plan on using a lot of his advice during my trip next month. I figure with the amount we are spending on this trip, his small fee will be worth it. I really enjoy reading all he has to offer.

I tried TGM and I'm not going to tell you what I thought of it. Yes I do have an opinion about the site - a pretty strong opinion as it happens. But I'm not going to share it with you.

You see, I happen to know that TGM readily offers full refunds. No explanation required, ask for a refund and you will receive it. The implications of this policy really should make any debate on this subject moot. Since there is absolutely no financial risk in trying TGM for yourself, the only thing you risk losing is the time it will take you to look around TGM once you have signed up. If it's not for you, get your money back. It’s a pretty simple concept folks.

Some people like TGM, some don't. I have no idea which group you will fall into. And neither do you, at least until you give it a try yourself. And since we've already established that there is no risk in giving Tour Guide Mike a try, that’s exactly what you should do. Make up your own mind. You don't need me or anyone else battering you over the head with our opinions as long as you have the means to come to your own opinion.

is he for just the magic kingdom or for like epcot and the other parks?

He has information for all of the parks, dining, activities, hotels, etc.

As stated above, it's risk free with a money back guarantee. Personally, I just signed up about a week ago and was pretty intimidated by all the reading, but I'm better at navigating the site and have some great suggestions which I would have never known otherwise. I like that he explains why he suggests what he does! I have printed a bunch of stuff already and have geared all my park visits and scheduling to his suggestions! For me, it's worth the $$.

Just try it and find out for yourself!

I signed up for TGM when I was planning our vacation in 2004. We're going back this year and I just renewed. Yes, there is a lot of reading, but it is broken down (i.e.-resorts, dining, each of the parks, etc). The thing I found most useful was that he will give you advice on the least crowded days for each park. It's my understanding that TGM used to work for Disney. Now he owns his own VIP Tour Company that can provide personalized itineraries and will also take their clients around to the different parks. The advice he provides is the same information they use when taking clients on the tours. I can't afford to have a personal guide, so I'll just take the hints and advice given.

He has a money back guarantee, so give it a try and decide for yourself.

I signed up a few weeks ago and am still learning my way around- its pretty confusing. I also thought there would me slightly more up to the minute info, and more for when I go (Nov 06) but I guess thats coming. Alot is in the Nov 05 section, so Ive been cruising around there...

So for those that have been numerous times --use EMH for mornings? or avoid those parks. We would go early, not stay out late somewhere. All I want to do is avoid the most crowds.

We're going in April do you think it's too late to sign up for TGM? Fam of 5 going w/ another Fam of 4.

No, not at all. I am going late March early April and have found a wealth of information. Some I know, some I didn't.
