What is there to do at WDW when it rains?!

Are most of the rides indoors? What kind of entertainment can you expect to be shut down when it rains?

I don't mean to be a smart *** but, anything outside. Most things are inside or has cover.

If there is lightning within three miles the water parks close. The steam train and monorail also close for lightning.

If it does rain, 90% of the time it's late afternoon (after 3PM).

Enjoy the parks. Don't let the weather forecast fool you even if it says rain it could be completely sunny in one park and rainy in the next. When I went in September it was supposed to rain every day pretty high chance of rain as well. It poured once the whole time when we were at MGM it did that for awhile then cleared up and didn't rain again.

We usually go to the other resorts or hit an arcade. DD2 hates the rain.

I had my back pack and put everything into Gallon Zip lock bags and don't forget one for your cell and camera if it does pour. When we were there Sept 19-25 it poured cats and dogs literally as we were waiting to see Fantasmic and we left... soaked to our underclothes but everyone else was just as wet.
It kinda is the norm... we didn't bring any ponchos but next year I sure will the ones in the parks run about I think... if I remember about 6.99 for kids and 7.99 or there abouts for adults... great to know if they rip they will replace them!
Didn't know that :) Thanks!

I will buy ours next year in the park... some folks get the cheap ones but you multiply that how many days you are there and then how many in your family... it can add up to be $ thrown away... just take zip lock baggies to store the wet stuff in or ask for a Disney bag they are larger and will hold several.

Most of our pics on our photo pass are with CLOUDY skies but we still have them. Make the most of it... and prepare the best you can. After all unless you are made out of sugar you have nothing to worry about.

Have a GREAT time... We can't wait to go back next year!

Another rain tip - buy a clear plastic backpack (clearbackpacks.com). It makes the security line a breeze and you don't have to worry about your nylon pack getting soaked. :thumbsup2

Zip top baggies are awesome to take with you so the important things like tickets, cameras, and wallets stay dry.

Ponchos fit most everyone and can be knotted if too long.:yay:

Don't forget to check with your hotel too. When it rains more activities are planned for the crowds that return from the parks. Crafts, and arcade rooms can be good too.

Don't forget the spas!!:thumbsup2

I completely agree with everyone here that rainy days are actually some of the best to be in the parks. The last time we went was June 2005 & it truly rained everyday. I was amazed at how quickly the parks emptied and how we really could walk on any ride we wanted! We were so thrilled with how it turned out that I devoted a few pages of our scrapbook to..."Why we loved the rain!" Enjoy your trip!!!:hippie:

I say do everything that you do when it is not raining. If you don't like the rain go to DTD. There are things to do there. Go to the different resorts to look around.
