I was just bathing my daughter upstairs and heard a car horn, then a Subaru pulling off at extreme speed (For those who don't know Subarus have a very distinct sound to them :teeth: ), we were expecting our friend as he and DH were going to see King Kong tonight. I thought that it couldn't have been him as he wouldn't be driving like that outside our house when Shelby could have been sleeping etc.

Anyway 2 seconds later the phone rang and it was our friend, two blokes had just tried to car jack him outside the house! :scared1: :scared1: I couldn't believe it, there were three altogether yelling at him to get out of the car etc and then they started to bash the window with a piece of 2x2 timber.

The police have just left - they said that the van that the theives were in was stolen this afternoon and this was the second attempt tonight - obviously they are just driving round and seeing what they could find. :worried:

I just can't believe that this has happened outside my house  , and they have still gone to the cinema! :)

I don't know..... :confused3

thats awfull

i tend to drive with my doors locked, i am a born worry wart.

I would be very uneasy it happening to someone i know or outside the house, :grouphug: :grouphug:

My Goodness! Glad you are all OK. Typical blokes still going to the cinema!
 for you and Shelby

That's horrible, glad you are all ok including your friend. Typical guys off to the cinema but your friend was probably quite shaken up (even if he didn't show it on the outside) and maybe wanted to have something take his mind off what had happened.

Thats horrific :worried:

I would be very upset if that happened in my street (although not altogether suprised :sad2: )

Your friend has been very lucky as I am sure the Police would have recommeded handing the car over just in case they had any other more dangerous weapons with them :(

:grouphug:

We just spoke to some of our friends in Manchester the other day and they have had the same problem. They had just got back from the chinese, Mother and Son went into the house whilst Father closed the gate. He turned around and two blokes where there with an axe. Luckily no one was hurt and they now have the car back. What makes people think that they have the right to steal something that you've worked so hard for.

That's horrible ~ I drive an awful lot in the city and usually have my doors locked.

Thats just shocking :scared1: Glad No one got hurt.
I always drive with my doors locked and make sure I have my mobile with me at all times.

That would terrify me!! My doors lock automatically when I start my engine. Things like this really put me off getting a lovely brand new car. Nice things are too appealing to thieves... !!!

Thats awful, Hope your friend wasn't too shaken. Glad you and Shelby are ok :)

thanks everyone - they got back from the cinema and DH told me that they were pulled over and the cops wanted to check that neil was ok - so that's quite nice of them.........now all they need to do is catch them!!

Thanks Tia Lucy - I think she's pretty cute too!! :teeth:
