What is the weather and crowds like in January

We went the end of January one year and I dont know if we would do it again.

Crowds were great, hardly any waits but the uncertainty about the weather is a pain. You can have a nice day one day and then cold the next..you have to pack both kinds of clothes..

The weather during January is very uncertain. I have been there when the temp was in the 80's and been there when it was in the 50's. So it is hard to pack for. But the crowds are light.

Typically you will see crowds start thinning out after January 3rd. It picks up a little bit during the Martin Luther King holiday weekend.

As the previous poster mentioned, the weather is very unpredictable. To be on the safe side, you should pack for both warm and cold temperatures. We were there last January from the 3rd-8th and it started out wonderful. Very warm days, but no humidity. Evenings were cool enough for a sweatshirt or sweater. Towards the end of our stay, a cold front moved in and the day time temp didn't get above 40 degrees. I'm from New England and I was in a jacket and mittens.

My suggestion when you do go into the parks is to bring a 2nd set of clothes with you. If it's cool when you enter the park, bring a pair of shorts to change into or if the day starts out warm, bring a pair of long pants and a sweatshirt. You can either carry them in a backpack or store them in a park locker. That's probably what stood out most in my mind, was people who were not prepared when the sun went down.

We were there for Martin Luther King weekend this year, and we had a blast. The weather on Saturday was very comfortable, upper 70's. Many had on shorts, we did capris and brought sweatshirts that we didn't wear. Sunday morining it rained heavily, but was still in the low 70's. We wore our sweatshirts under our ponchos until the rain stopped, then it got very warm (80) for the rest of the day. Watched Illuminations with no sweatshirts. Even though it was cool for the area, it was still better than the below freezing temps of Southern NJ!!!

As for the crowds, everyone said MLK weekend would be bac, but since we usually go to the world in the summer, we didn't think it was bad at all. We did use fastpass in MK, but didn't wait longer than 15 minutes for anything else.

Walking thru EPCOT was very nice, although it did pick up a bit after the rain stopped.

I am a very optimistic person, so I always go with the intentions of having a great time no matter what, and that is what always happens!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Have a great time, I wish I was going back this January!!!

We were there the second week of January 2000, and the crowds were great.

Weather was fantastic with the exception of the day we left, which was chilly, probably low 60's.

My kids were in the pool everyday and we went to the water park for a day.
