What is the UK pavilion at Epcot missing?

I am surprised that people have had bad interaction with CM's in UK we have had some of the best talking to people from local areas, had some football banter there one morning

it is a bit dull and personally my least favourite pavilion we literally just walk through it! I think a real landmark would be nice something like big ben or the angel of the north for you northerners lol they couldn't represent the west country just a field with a few cows in it!

I have no major gripe, only 1 minor thing that bothers me is the dessert at CS, short bread or potato chips. who eats either of those with Fish & chips? personally I would do away with dessert and add a slice of bread and butter and portion of mushy peas or curry sauce.
You can never please everyone with a small area, I don't think they do too bad plus its what people from other countries think not what we think.
Maybe a ride like Jen suggests, we never watch the music show, can't comment on the content in shops, I wouldn't pay Disney prices for anything in EPCOT(or any park for that matter) I only buy from outlet stores:rotfl2:

I might be the only one.....but I love shortbread and felt it was a welcome change from chocolate cake or cheesecake.....in fact I don't even like fish and chips, so the kids had them and I pinched the shortbread:rotfl:

See Wales in there properly..

Sooooo true:thumbsup2

I think the theming is fun, it's just a Disney take on England. I actually would change the menu in the pub..I have never had a good meal in the Rose and Crown. I give it the benefit of doubt every other year but I just do not like it.:confused3 Other then that I think England holds it own amongst the other countries. :)

This is the problem, everyone thinks it's England and not the UK.

In September we were chatting with a CM in Norway and we were discussing how disney represents the countries. She said that she felt that Norway was cheesy and not how she see's Norway......she went on to say most CM's feel the same way about there home country. I think Disney has just picked up on what torists would recognise.

I have no problem with shortbread, I could eat a box to myself I like it so much but not after fish and chips for me, but then again I don't really want any dessert after fish and chips which is why I said a slice of bread and butter & mushy peas would be a better offering. I guess its good they are something easy to throw in the bag for later for us.

This is what I was trying to say, its not really what we think of our pavilion its how others see it, They are trying to show what a tourist sees, for us thats a pub, fish & chips, red phone box etc.
One thing that I think would work for Disney is a tea room, something like they have at the GF, we have tried twice this year for a ressie and not got in. Somewhere really nice to have tea & scones, strawberries, trifle etc.

Here's a great idea for an attraction for the UK Pavilion. There could be a relaxing outdoor boat ride that takes guests on a cruise through the scenic english countryside. On the attraction, guests would sail past beautiful gardens and replicas of small villages and famous national landmarks such as Stonehedge and Hadrian's Wall. Each of the boats would either have an audio guide or a live cast member to explain about the gardens and replicas being passed.

my hubby was the same with the celtic stuff he's a mad rangers supporter lol

Same here. He was so ticked he won't even go in the place anymore. I don't know how true it is since I don't follow soccer and he's a bit biased :goodvibes but he feels Celtic support some pretty bad things and can't understand why Disnye allow it. I just figured maybe whoever does their buying must be a Celtic supporter. :confused3

Either way, I'd say if you ar going to start putting sport teams in there, you better include all the big ones or you start alienating people.

I also wish they sold other items to eat. DH would kill for a King Rib and I'd kill for a cheese n onion sandwich!

I remember asking the same thing about the football shirts and i was told that it was a brand thing, as in who made the shirts. I think it was Umbro that Disney had the deal with but not 100% sure.

Ah...okay I just read this to DH and he agreed. He said Rangers only allow certain places to sell their shirts which pisses him off and that they need to change that because they have 3 American players on their team. So I'm all..."Then why are you pissed at Disney if it's Rangers fault?" lol He's like, "I dunno....just pissed."

Men! :lmao:

This is why I don't follow sports. :P
