and what do you need to get it? I am looking to spend 2 nights onsite during our summer trip to get FOTL privileges. I keep seeing people saying they are waiting for the super saver rate.....

The super saver rate gives you deeper discounts the more nights you book. I don't think it is available for two nights. It usually starts if you purchase three nights. You get a certain percent off. If you purchase 4 you get a higher percentage off. etc.

It isn't always available.

ditto to what damo stated.

the super saver rates usually come out by the end of january.

sometimes when released, it will include the entire year while other times, it will only list a portion of the year in segments.

So, Universal puts out the Super Saver rate?

We are planning a summer trip and just exploring the rates....a little sticker shock to stay onsite, but worth it, i know.

I found right at $200 per night in June(RP) thru Expedia....Univeral rate right now is $249. Should I hold off booking? I would prefer to book thru Universal anyway.

Thanks!

you can always modify your rate if it drops.

i make my ressie usually about 11 months out.
when the aph or aaa or ss rates drop, i always call and have my rate modified to reflect the cheapest room rate.

You can't change your price if you book through Expedia and you don't earn any credits towards YouFirst (the Loews perks program).

Mac is right. Book through Loews whenever you are ready and know that you can alter it.

Will Universal post these on their site, or do you have to call and ask for it? I just don't want to miss it if it comes out for the end of April!

If it is available it will come up as the regular rate for you.

the discounted rates do show up on the website.
you can also get what the discounted rates are by calling UO resorts.

i just got off the phone with UO resorts.
SS rates have not been released yet.
only the stay and save promo is open into the spring.

The rates out right now for Jan - March aren't that good. Hopefully they soon realize that they have lots of rooms left and need to drop their prices.

Is there a difference between the stay more save more rate and the supersaver rate? Last week I had my AAA rate adjusted to the stay more save more rate for the end of August, but was hoping the rate would come down more. Could it possibly come down more for supersaver rate?

It should come down again. The Aug supersavers rates are not posted yet. they come out end of Jan to beginning of Feb. Keep checking back.

i check weekly by the loews/ UO website or by calling them.

i have been fortunate the last two years that i was able to switch from the AAA rate to the SS rate.

the SS rate has been the best deal for most everyone.
there are no catches to it.
it is a valid discount that anyone can use.
last year i saved over $600 by using it.

i also check for new threads that alerts us new deals/promos.

if i find out that the SS rate is out, i usually make a new thread to let others know if no one has announced it in the forums.

How do AP rates work? I bought the $99 tickets for the others in my family, but plan to buy my AP when I get there, or just before. How do I get an AP rate in the meantime? I have the room booked for the 2 nights at the regular rate that was on the website right now.

since you have already booked your room, call and tell them you want to apply APH rate to your ressie.

you do not have to have the AP at the time of booking.

you will more than likely be asked to show your AP during your stay at the hotel.

there are a number of peeps that book with the APH rate, check in and then upgrade their ticket pass to the PAP.
if you are asked to show your AP at check in, tell them you are buying the AP when you get to the parks.

the TM will tell you to stop by the lobby desk once you do that and show the AP.
you will receive the AP room rate once you do that.

only a certain percentage of rooms are available to book at the AAA rate, APH rate, Super saver rates.

you need to book with the discount rate before you check into the hotel.

book now with the APH rate and check frequently for any drops in the rate until your stay. you can have the cheaper rate modified so you will pay less then.

you can get 10% off of food and merch in the parks by showing your AP.

once your ap is activated at the park, you can read the ap newsletter on line.
perks for different periods in the year will be listed on it.

you also get great discounts for HHN tickets.

I called and got the AP rate applied, but the AP discount for October is right now only at 10%. Have any of you experienced further AP discounts as the time draws nearer, or is this the best I can hope for (especially given the new WWofHP)? Since we're only staying 2 nights, and we're planning dinners at restaurants that don't have an AP discount, it won't be worth buying the AP unless the AP discount goes to at least 20%. If it doesn't, I may cancel and rebook the regualr rate, and just buy myself one of the $99 tickets that I bought the rest of my family. Bummer - I was really hoping the AP would pay for itself. We won't be back for a second trip in a year, so the savings was the only reason I was considering it.

In the past, it has been very common for the rates to further decrease as time approaches depending on how many empty rooms they have. With WWoHP opening this year, all bets are off. I wouldn't cancel, though, since the worst that will happen is that you'll end up having to pay regular price if you choose not to buy an AP.

i booked november 09 for my october 10 stay at UO onsite.

when i booked, the AAA rate was $20 cheaper per night than the APH rate.

i keep checking and as of now, the AAA rate has increased.

both of those rates will change as the date gets nearer.
if the hotel (s) is not at 90% occupancy, the ap rate will come down.
four years ago the aph rate dropped drastically 5 days before my stay on site.

i am still on the lookout for the super saver rate.
in the meantime, i am keeping the AAA rate discount.

you might be better off joining AAA.
i pay $45 a year for my area for the membership.
i can get up to 35% discounted off my universal hotel rate with the aaa card.
i also can use it for 10% discounts for food and merch in the parks and hotel.
if i shop online thru the AAA site, i can get a bigger discount that way also.

i agree with you RIP.
the op might be better off with the AAA membership as the discounts will absorb the membership costs quickly.
