my 7 year old nephew says he wants to do it but i am skeptical? any of you with kids around this age take them on?

My 6 year old wouldn't go near it. He'd be fine on the roller coaster but the horror elements were pretty startling even for the adults in the group. Depends on the kid I guess. Good luck and have fun!

My son will be 7 1/2 when we go. He wants to ride this...if he is tall enough. Of course he wants to ride everything. He is one of those "faster the better" kids. And he likes scary stuff--favorite movie--anything Jason...esp Freddie V Jason!!

It is scary, but such a great attraction. Try and convince him, he may love it!

It depends on the child.

If any of the following seem scary to them, skip it or utilize child swap. And this is a *MAJOR SPOILER* :scared1:

Evil Mummies, including 6 that pop out of nowhere and are poised for attack. Note that you will see Imhotep kill two people by sucking out their soul (it's not gory)
Fire
Bugs (flesh eating scarabs)
Darkness
High speed roller coasters (there are no inversions, though)
Falling backwards (once, just after the scarab swarm)
Archaelogists that have become possessed by the Mummy, or are resisting the possession

my 6 year old daughter loved it. We went on it like 6 times.

She will not go on hulk or dueling dragons though because they have the loops. :teeth:

It really does depend on the kid. After my 9 yo nephew rode it the first time, he said never again. It was the scary stuff that got to him, not the coast aspect. After he say the Horror Makeup Show, he had a better understanding of special effects and he wanted to go back. He wound up riding about 6 more times, and wanted it to be the last ride before we left for home, but alas it was down due to technical difficulties.

I would suggest you ride it first without him. You should be a pretty good judge of whether or not it will be too much for him.

Hi!!! No11smom

I am from Spring Also. Thats what my 6 year old daughter wanted to do before we left on June 10 also but it was down due to technical difficulties. We were so upset but still glad we got to ride it several times during our stay:teeth:

How bad is the Fire scene?
One of the people in our party lost a son in a burning car accident and I don't know if this is something that would break her down or not..if it is pretty intense im going to suggest she skip it.
Please let me know

There are two times where they use fire. *spoiler alert again*

First is in the treasure room. When the mummies pop up, there are small fireballs by them and there is a torch under Imhotep that gets big. They're just for a few seconds.

The second is the scene after the first roller coaster portion. Imhotep kills the girl, then sets the roof on fire (it's hot, but it's several feet above your head) and the wall torches get big. Also for just a few seconds.

thanks for all of the replies. my nephew is sitting here with me and i let him read the responses. he said "i won't be doing that ride!" so i guess that we will skip it or i may be in for a treat.
