Saw on social media where someone posted about a rumored change to resort parking, but didn't mention what that change might be?

Are they talking about the additional parking being created where the racetrack was? This is not a rumor.

I believe that is about a possible parking fee coming to the resorts.

I suspect

FYI...the DVC member site now has "you may have to valet park at Boardwalk and beach club"

Or they could shrink the 3/4 empty valet lots...but what's the sense in that?

I think if they charge a one time "length of stay" fee equal to the daily parking rate at the resorts...it would all but eliminate the problem.

That note on the DVC site has been there for months. Mostly because of the BWV rehab, construction vehicles are in the lots.

Disneyland charges $18 per day for hotel parking, including hotel guests. DVC members on points are exempt.

Those notes/policy are never going away.

Disneyland is completely different. The average stay is 2-3days. The average stay at wdw is about 7

That egregious and even they know it.

Maybe they have devised a way for your car to not be 204 degrees when you get into it? pirate: Pixie dust indeed.

That's why I love that my friend can start her car before we get to it! When ever she is with us it is wonderful because she turns it on (the doors stay locked) and the A/C starts to cool down the car. It is much more tolerable when we get in. Same goes for when it is super cold out you can start the car remotely and turn on the heat.

I hope they don't start charging for parking at the resorts if you are a resort guest. That's part of the reason I'll be booking at one of the resorts for my next trip. I'm already going to have to pay $20+ per day at Universal for not having a reservation at one of their resorts which is fairly high in my book so I def wouldn't want to pay $20+ for my stay of 9 to 10 days (which includes both WDW and Universal park days).

I do understand your point but the difference is Disneyland is landlocked and was kinda built in and around an already existing city space. WDW was mostly prior swamp land where nothing was around for miles and miles. Hotels, resorts, roads, etc was all built around WDW not the other way around. Space is more of a premium at Disneyland not so the case at all at WDW.

Also Disneyland is very much a regional destination whereas WDW is very much an international as well as national destination. People tend to stay longer due to the size of WDW (with 4 parks kinda spread out from each other aside from DHS and Epcot) and it's location-meaning people are coming from all over the world.

Disneyland has 3 official resort hotels and WDW has much much more than than (I'm excluding the partnered hotels) so if parking fees for resort guests were to be required it would impact so many more people.

I believe you pay for parking at Universal whether you are a guest there or not.

I can understand parking for resort guests only, if that's the change. But it would make dining at a resort for locals a pain, especially food court dining. Because I'm sure they'd allow people with ADR to park.

Hopefully AP and DVC members don't have to pay to park if they are guests. The only parking changes I've heard recently is MK resorts and EP resorts are either valet only with ADR or resort guest, or resort guests only. This is mainly due to so much holiday traffic.

I think we will see a fee for people not staying at that resort and validated parking for up to 3 hours for people woth a dinning reservation. That will stop people from parking all day at the monorail resorts or parking at the Epcot area resorts. Then it doesn't affect peope actually staying at that resort or those with ADR but want to eat at Captain Cooks, but drive and didn't book a room at the Poly well you'll have to pay. I think that will regulate people to the TTC for all MK area activities and Epcot or DHS for those activites.
