Let's say your were starting from bay lake's front entrance and wanted to get to MK, would it be faster to walk over to the CR and get on the monorail and do the whole monorail loop or just walk over to MK? (Got a 2 yr old In a stroller for the first time on this trip so my wife wants to know)

Thanks in advance for the help!

Walk to the MK. Monorail or Walk back to CR/BLT.

From CR/BLT, the resort monorail goes to TTC > Poly > GF > MK.

Walk.

I'd say it's a toss up on the monorail back and depending on monorail traffic walking still will often be faster.

Keep in mind that taking the monorail to MK means you will stop at the TTC, the Poly and GF. That is about 15 to 20 minutes minimum if there are no delays. It is about a 10 minute brisk walk to MK from BLT. But when returning to BLT from MK via the monorail, BLT is the first stop. So if you are exiting MK without hundreds of others you might want to take the resort monorail back.

not to mention the stroller hassle with the elevators to get up to the monorail. Glad my kiddo is done with them for our next trip :)

Nothing better than being able to just take a short walk down the sidewalk after a fireworks show or parade at night. After these shows or parades when you are approaching the park closing the monorail is usually jammed with people waiting to take it. I do still love the ride on the monorail but when it is busy I just walk back and forth to BLT.

Walk on the way over is no doubt quicker as others have indicated. On the way back it could go either way, but also consider monorail delays in addition to lines. It's not uncommon to walk underneath a stopped monorail on your way back to BLT.

Walk. The only thing you cant control about the walk time, waiting at stop light at cross over area, but still way faster than monorail.

We walked and it's wonderful with a little one in a stroller. Plus, it helps burn the calories from all of the Mickey Bars and goodies you will eat.

It is a great walk and we usually walk in both directions, unless we are in the mood for a monorail ride.

The walk is short, but not that short. It usually takes us about 15 or so minutes with our three little kids.

Walk for sure, but please be careful at the crosswalk with the traffic light, as we have seen people not paying attention while driving. And we have learned, too, that keeping an eye on the ferry that is coming across from the TTC is a good idea....you don't want to be entering the security pre-check area at the same time as the wave of people from the ferry. We now understand why the monorails stop so often....they don't want to unload at MK the same time as the ferry. Way too many people wanting to get in at the same time. And pay attention to security and/or CM's that may or may not be waving you into a break in the fence so you don't have to walk a bit further. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't, depending on crowd levels and arrivals of ferry/monorails.

Enjoy your stay at BLT. A great resort.

Going to MK - Walk.
Going home to BLT from MK at the end of a busy day? - Monorail everytime. Resort monorail is always easy. Sit
about 3/4 of the way back on the monorail and you will be right at the elevator entrance when you exit at Contemporary.

Be careful when crossing the parking lot too. We saw a woman was hit by a car around June 11th, an ambulance had just arrived. She was walking where the walkway crosses the exit drive at the back part of the lot near the guard kiosk. There is a slight curve in the road so when the cars turning left there after entering CR via the guard shack might not see a pedestrian.
