Is this ride like the "white water rapids" type thing I've seen at Hershey park where you sit in a round "thingie" and you float down the "river" and get wet etc.... but does it have any "drops" or scary parts?? thanks M

Exactly! Except that this one is better than most. I've been on a bunch of similar rides all around the country and this is my favorite.

There are some drops, but nothing too drastic. How scary it is depends on your threshold of fear, I suppose, but I wouldn't rate it as very scary at all.

It is possible to get very, very wet on this ride, but it also possible to come through virtually unscathed.

Did you know that these rafts go faster the more weight there is in them? So for a really peppy ride, get in line behind a bunch of opera singers.

Kelly, Thanks for description of Popeye ride. Remember, I am the "flume chicken" I don't like drops like that, and don't do coasters, but this sort of thing I think I can handle and sounds like great fun. I'm still considering the Jurassic ride-- I wish there was a way to get off before the final drop!!! How about if I scream for mercy??? !! lol THANKS M

The drop on Jurassic Park isn't bad at all! It's not as tall or steep as Dudley' Ripsaw Falls, and since the JP boats are so wide you feel very secure. The drop is very smooth and pretty dry. The thrill on JP is in the theming, not the speed. Have fun!

I loved this ride. My dh and 6yr old ds got drenched. It was one of the best rapids type ride I've ever been on.

stupid question but- in the summer this this is so funny!!where is there fear???

Wet you will get on Popeye and Bluto's Bildge Ratt Bardges. But here are a few tips to stay dry.

You must wear shoes or flip flops. In the queue, take off your shoes and socks, then put your shoes back on. Ball up your socks and hold them in your hand.
When you get into the ride put them in the middle holder which has a plastic cover.
Guys can take off their shirts and put them in the middle.

Now, at the first drop, the vehicle fills with water. Hold your feet up and keep them up for the entire ride. You'll get soaked from the water falls and other splashes. But your shoes should stay fairly dry.

After the ride, put your shirt back on, walk out the exit, then put your socks back on.

If you don't do this, your feet will be completely soaked, and water logged after walking around.

Another tip is to bring a change of cloths and put it in the $5 locker at the front of the park.

On Rip Saw Falls (log flume), the front of your shirt will get soaked, but you'll dry off after a few minutes.
