What is the point of only 1 person getting an AP? I have never gotten an AP but thinking about getting one considering we will have 10 day park hoppers for our trip in January. Since there are only 2 of us what are the advantages/disadvantages of only 1 getting an AP?

Save on one person's tickets for the year. Still get room, restaurant, and merchandise discounts .

I'm hoping to book BB when we go in August with the "free dining" for next September. In order to do that I would have to book whatever days passes are required for the promotion. So If only I have an AP would I be able to save the tickets from the package? Would DH be able to use his tickets? I'm not sure only 1 AP would work for what I want to do.

Yes, you could save whatever ticket entitlement was a required purchase with the FD offer and use it later (like after your AP expires). Your DH would be able to use his tickets. Just make sure you prioritize in MDE your AP over your FD ticket purchase.

I had an AP one year and used it for 2 trips I had planned within 12 months. For one of the trips, it was a family trip where my parents, brother and sister were joining me. We each had our own rooms and booked a fabulous deal. At the time, in order to get the deal, each room had to have at least a 1 day pass. So for mine, we booked just the 1 day pass and I used the AP for the rest of the trip.

You also get photopass. Anyone riding with you or in your friends/family can get the pics from you.

I am getting an AP this year, the rest of my family will get 10 day base tickets. We will visit again next summer, just before my AP expires so that I get two trips out of it. The AP will get us free parking for two 10 day trips (saving us $400) plus Memory Maker, and a discount on dining, and merchandise. Money in the pocket right there.

When we went with our extended family (7 of us) everyone got 10 day Hoppers, I purchased an AP.

The AP allowed us to receive room discounts (on our three rooms), merch and dining discounts, reduced party ticket prices etc. The savings were well worth it.
