What is the most UNDERRATED restaurant in WDW....and why?

Garden Grill. People think of it as just a character meal -- and I think many people who aren't interested in characters pass on it for that. I know I did until my little one started getting interested in meeting them.

Now, it's a place I visit every trip -- the food is really good, and the veggies are fresh because they're grown in The Land. They even have a decent organic beer (not from Disney, it's a microbrew, I believe)... and good beer is hard to come by at WDW.

I agree with Garden Grill. The food is always good when we have gone. I love how fresh the veggies are and even my husband who dislikes most vegetables eats his veggies here. :thumbsup2

Another restaurant we really enjoy that never seems to be very busy is Marrakesh. The food is very tasty and the service is always good. I don't know why so many people pass on this restaurant, but we enjoy it.

I also agree with Garden Grill. I hadn't heard much about it, but I thought the food was REALLY good. Whatever they marinade the flank steak in is delicious! I also loved the salad, and could have made a meal from that alone. The character interaction is fabulous as well :)

Yes, another vote for The Wave. It was shockingly excellent, both in terms of the food and the service.

Sanaa! It's one of our top 3 favs! The food there is delicious. I love their tomato soup, the bread service, and the fish wrapped in a banana leaf. One of the dips for the bread service is super spicy and takes your head off, but we looooove it! You don't have to order that one if you don't like spicy (I forget what it's called, but the server will know which one it is.). The servers there are wonderful and the view can't be beat! We always request a table by the window and our request has always been honored.

I vote for the Biergarten. We've always enjoyed an excellent experience there, the food is fantastic, the desserts yummy, and the show is great fun.

I don't believe the Biergarten is underrated. It gets rave after rave here on the DIS. Same goes for Kona - lots of good reviews here.
I agree with Marakkesh. It is a great restaurant that is often overlooked

Yeah, Biergarten gets raves here at the DIS, but people aren't beating down the doors to get ADRs like they do for Le Cellier and a couple of others.

For me the most under rated restaurant would be the Captains Grill at the YC. We mad adr's for this place as an afterthought for our first night when we stayed at the YC; to say we were surprised is an understatement. We have been there twice since then. I'll agree, theme wise it is like any restaurant you can find in any city, but the food is good. I guess that's why I like it, even in WDW there are times I want just a couple of hours to get away from it and refresh.

I have to agree with those who voted for Kona Cafe. Our entrees were fabulous and the banana-chocolate creme brulee was my favorite dessert ever. My son who is a huge carnivore and a bit of a foodie said his Kona steak was way better than the one @ Le Cellier. You can't even get near Le Cellier unless you book far in advance. You could on the other hand get a table @ Kona tomorrow.

Kona Cafe is my favorite restaurant:hippie:

My recommendation: Pineapple-Macadamia Pancakes:goodvibes

And cant forget the Tonga Toast:thumbsup2

I would say it's the Contempo Cafe at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Now I realize it's not a table service restaurant since it's a counter service location and some people might think great another Burger and Hot Dog location. Well if you look at their menu you will see they are not your typical counter service location, because their menu is well advanced then what you would see at some of the other WDW counter service locations.

we discovered this on our last trip....definitely better than the average counter service....

I would agree, we stay at the BLT Jan' '10. and the weather was COLD!!and ended up going there a lot for lunch! I was pleasantly surprised how good the resturant was.. On the other hand,I finally get to go to Kona Cafe for breakfast on our Sept. '10 for some Tonga toast I have been reading about for so long!:woohoo:

I actually think Kona is one of the most OVERrated restaurants at Disney. I can get better food and service at Applebee's. But everyone seems to think it's the holy grail of restaurants. I don't see how it can be "underrated," people go on and on and on and on and on about how spectacular it is.

We've absolutely loved Marrakesh, Akershus dinner, Kouzzina, and Sanaa. Grand Floridian Cafe was lovely and had great food, but so-so service.

Teppan Edo. It's a lot of fun, great food, easy to get an ADR for, easy to walk-in to (with a small party) and one of the most reasonably priced table service locations in WDW.

Some people may disagree with me but I don't really care!:rotfl:
I would say the most underrated restaurant is NINE DRAGONS we had the most amazing food. So much so that we went back a second time that trip!

It's not hard for Nine Dragons to be underrated. ;)

For my family, it's Kouzzina. This place has been ravaged by harsh criticism across the Internet. In our experience, the negativity is completely unwarranted. I suspect a large portion of the restaurant's detractors make reservations without fully understanding what they are about to experience. The food at Kouzzina is relatively ethnic by Disney standards, and I think that surprises and disappoints the average guest.

If you enjoy Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, I strongly recommend trying Kouzzina.

I could not agree more. We ate twice here in may, we enjoyed it that much. We have ressies again this december :thumbsup2

Also, Morocco in Epcot. We went in expecting the worst, and were pleasantly surprised.
