What is the most over-rated ride at WDW?

For me, the lamest attraction is Spaceship Earth.

You know, I didn't even think about this one, but now thats it's brought up - I could definitely give it a vote.

I remember riding it years ago. I couldn't wait for it to end. I was so disappointed because the outside looked so cool. The imagineers must have been on crack the day they came up with that.

My most over rated ride..is actually just an attraction. What's up with Swiss Family Robinson's Treehouse! That thing just takes up space in my opinion. This last trip my DD said "Mom we've never gone on this." There was a reason. I don't go to WDW to walk through a tree. I took her through and when we were done she wondered where the ride was...EXACTLY !!!It's not worth the time. That part of the part could be used for something much better.

I have to say Alien Encounter. I read about it before I went and I expected something really cool. I was so unimpressed. I knew I wouldn't get scared, but I thoiught the effects would actually be state of the art. It never felt like the alien was near me and I hoped it would be kind of scary. I remember walking off so disappointed.

Hopefully stitch's encounter will at least have good special effects. I also am not crazy about Test Track
(I agree bring back world of motion). Also, I haven't gone on Mission Space, but I have a feeling I will be disappointed. What did Mission Space replace?

Space Mountain. The Euro Disney version is much better. Also R 'n Rollercoaster. Decent enough coaster, but raved about far too much. Tame compared to other coasters. And that whole Aerosmith nonsense is so naff. Not surprising I suppose from such a naff band.

ITA with this too. What a let down.

for me it's BTMR...I know people on these boards rave about it...but I was never that impressed!!!

I love Test Track, and Kali, and RNR and all the other ones people have listed EXCEPT...Mission:Space........horrible...I almost lost my cookies ...never again

My dh and I were talking about Test Track a couple of days ago- we weren't all that impressed either... I would have to go with that one.

I love test track, but Mission space would get my vote for most overated. We always used to think the most overated one was Alien Encounter, but that's gone now.

I would have to say Space Mountain. I was really dissapointed with it. I love rollercoasters and was expecting it to be like the Space Mountain at DLP which is an excellent ride. However it is nothing like it.

I agree that the rapids are way too short as well and that Spaceship Earth I think is over rated.

LOL! I love Spaceship Earth but this cracked me up.

"historical characters with bad wigs"

:) :teeth: I'd say I rather like historical characters with bad wigs but part of me fears that the tag fairy would use that as a perfect oppurtunity....

I would have to agree with Swiss Family Treehouse.

I love Spaceship Earth though!

I thought Mission was fine once, but it's not something I have any interest in doing over and over. A blockbuster attraction should be something you can't get enough of IMO, like my favorite ToT.

I agree Tarheel -- Disney for me is rides I want to do over and over again, and I never, ever will set foot on this one another time. I know a lot of other people who feel the same way.

I want acepepper to tell us what "naff" means. I like RnR (although I agree it's too short) and I like Aerosmith -- am I naff?:D

I think there are other rides that I had no expectations of, that are lame. But because I expected alot from this atttraction and waited in line for 45 minutes I felt my time would have been better spent on something else.

Not overrated as such, but certainly over used. The 'Dumbo type' ride....Dumbo, Triceratop Spin, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Astro Orbiter. Come on, Imagineers, think out of the box, 'I M A G I N E'. One is fine, Dumbo.

I don't think of WDW as a place for going on rides as much as a place to be entertained. The rides are secondary and I do like many of them. However, I'm not big on "thrill" rides. That's just me, though.

I had almost forgotten about the Swiss Family Tree since it does tend to be forgetable. See it once, well that's nice, no lines... move on.

Small World is undergoing a long-overdue rehab and I hope it's going to be much better. It was pretty "high tech" in it's day, and still entertaining unless you happen to get stuck for 45 minutes with the music still going.

I was surprised to see all the votes for Test Track and Mission Space. We've been on Test Track a few times and waited in line for way too long once with pounding music(?) blasting. I think what we liked most about it was finally getting away from all the racket. I have to agree with this being high on the list. It replaced a very entertaining attraction, which only matters if you like being entertained.

We've yet to go on Mission Space and are not sure if we'll even attempt it this October. Still another ride that replaced a popular and entertaining attraction. I would have rather seen Horizons updated.

One of my all-time disappointments was the first revision of Imagination. That used to be the first place we headed when it was big on Figment. It really set the mood for us. The more recent revision is better than the last, but still not as good as the original.

I think thrill seekers would be better served by an amusement park where there is a much better chance of recycling your lunch. Personally, I prefer being entertained. I guess I'm just old and boring. I even like a shady bench and some popcorn! I know... lame...

Absolutely Test Track. Rode it for he first time last week and was angry that I had to wait in line after the ride concluded. What a waste of time. I can go drive my car for that "thrill".

Me too .

I'd also have to say Mission Space :(. There was absolutely no wait in May when we went in the middle of the day. I know some people love it, but I'm sad that even more people seem to dislike such a new, expensive attraction. I much prefer the "old" technology like in Spaceship Earth. Audioanimatronics still fascinate me :teeth:.

I hope most of us like Soarin' and Expedition Everest :worried:.

I have to agree with GeorgeG. I liked Horizons better than Mission:Space, and I definately liked the original Imagination ride so much better than the new one! DISNEY: Bring back the old favorites!!:wizard:
