What is the Matsu No Ma Lounge like?

Is the sushi good there? How smoky is it? Can you get a view of Illuminations? Can you get a enough food at a reasonable price to substitute for dinner?

I can't tell you about the sushi, but the tempura is good and you could probably make a meal out of it. And yes, you can get a seat with a view for Illuminations. However, if you go just outside the lounge (same level) the view is better.

The sushi is very good! As for smoke, it is a non smoking establishment, just like other WDW restaurants. The service is good, and we didn't find it hard to get a table by the windows. The only problem with trying to watch Illuminations from here is that you can't hear what is going on. We ate there before Illuminations,and yes, you can definitely get enough to substitute for dinner (we had tempura, tuna sushi, california rolls and vegie rolls,and were stuffed), Then we went out and stood on the deck right outside for a birdseye view!

The sushi is good, very fresh, though totally unreasonably priced. It's standard fare, nothing exceptionally creative, but still above average in comparision to a number of sushi places I've tried. You can easily make a meal of it; we often go there for a light lunch.

My, that's some cheap sushi. I haven't been there - but its a good fifty cents cheaper an order than here. Here being the Twin Cities where all sushi type fish needs to be flown in (walleye sushi not being very popular).

Really?! We have an excellent sushi place that serves 8 pieces for about $2!! Needless to say, it's always packed. Their sushi menu is about 6 pages long, and the cranberry/creamcheese/walnut sushi is to die for.

From the lounge you can look out over the lake which affords you a nice view, however you can usually count on people gathering outside the window on the outside deck during illuminations. If you are in Japan for Illuminations you may find it more enjoyable from outside.

I would like to reccomend a somewhat overlooked restaurant that is also right there in Japan. Teppanyaki's. My wife and I love this place. Fresh meats and vegetables prepared by the chef at your table which is also a large cooking surface. The food is good and the entertainment adds to the experience.

You are getting a bargain. I went for sushi the other night. One glass of plum wine, four pieces of shasimi (two tuna, two salmon), a side salad came to $20. Five of us girls went for girls night out and had a $100 sushi bill - no liquor.

I don't know how good Teppenyaki is - but I don't think its overlooked - I haven't been able to book it (granted kind of last minute) for my last two trips!

Yes the Sushi is Excellant, and VERY Reasonable. I go to an All you can Eat Sushi resteraunt here in Miami for 12.79 not as fresh and Good as Matso!
