What is the longest solo trip you could stand?

If time and money were no object (LOL), after how many solo days would you feel truly sick of WDW? I've only ever traveled with family, and by the 8th or 9th day start to feel that it would be a fate worse than hell to be trapped there. But I think I might reach that breaking point earlier on a solo trip, which I am in the process of planning now. Am quite comfortable being alone and don't expect I would miss the obligations of home life too much. Am really asking about the tolerability of WDW itself when consumed non-stop with no pausing to compromise for family's sake and no distraction afforded by others' needs and good company. Thanks for your opinions. Would love to hear from those who have done longish solo trips (and everyone else, too).

It's more being with people on long trips that starts to grate on me. I went on a 5-day cruise with my mom three years ago and good thing it wasn't longer because we were starting to snap at each other by the end. But more recently I was in Paris for a week with a couple of friends and we got along perfectly. The difference was that my friends were much more understanding of my need to take breaks from sightseeing and activities and just chill out in the room for a while doing nothing. I like to go everywhere and see everything on trips but I like my downtime too!

I think I'd be comfortable by myself at WDW for as many days as it took to take in all the parks, hit up Universal for the new WWofHP, eat everywhere I wanted to eat, and have one or two resort-relaxation days in between the park days. After that I would probably start to get bored. So maybe 8 days for an ideal length.

I know well that feeling of needing some alone time and starting to snap at each other. The thought of a solo trip is very appealing in a life otherwise filled with compromise. Thanks for your nice reply and opinion about 8 days.

I've done 4 days solo at WDW and think I could easily do 1 or perhaps 2 days more. I like to go to the parks early in the morning, and again in the evening, alternating so I do 2 different parks each day and both a morning and evening session (except AK obviously) at each park, and some time at DTD. If I had a couple of extra days, I could stretch that out so that I wouldn't be spending all day at the parks, could spend more down time at my hotel/resort, and have more restaurant options. But I'm pretty sure that after 6-7 days, I'd be ready to leave.

I did a 6 day solo trip a couple of years ago, and that felt just a twinge too long. By my last day, I was kind of just wandering around, not really knowing what to do, haha. In the end, I'm glad I did because I ended up going to Le Cellier for an early lunch, then spent the rest of the day touring the monorail resorts.
I also spent 1 of those nights at Universal to see a concert at the Hard Rock, plus take advantage of the early entry to HP and took TONS of detailed photos there when there was no one around, and I stayed at 2 Disney resorts surrounding the Uni days. I crammed a lot into those 6 days, haha.

I've done a few 3 and 4 day solo trips too, those seem to be my sweet spot.

2012 I did 5 nights/4 full days - 2013 and 2014, I did 6 nights/5 full days, and I thought that was just about right. But planning another 6 nights/5 days for this year, I'm already feeling like I won't have enough time, and next year I may look at adding yet another day... (Part of my problem this year is that my flight gets in late enough that I'm opting for the first time NOT to hit a park on arrival day.)

All things considered, time and money no object... my max would probably be something like 10 nights/9 full days, and that would include a day or two to venture over to Universal. I don't tend to get bored or lonely, but after a while I do miss the comforts of being at home.

I guess I'm the odd one. I did a 12 night trip a couple of years ago. With MNSSHP and the F&WF I never got board or anxious to go home.

I wish I were more like you, but have a feeling I'd get Disneyed out sooner than that.

I am going solo in November for 9 nights/10 days and I am thrilled!!! This will be the first trip with no debates or worrying about anyone else but ME! Every trip with my family, I find time to go off on my own and do my own thing for a while and those times have been the most fun for me. I don't think I will be disney'ed out at all. I will be able to take my time each day instead of rushing since I usually am there for 6 nights. I will have more time to do everything I want to see or do like renting a bike and exploring. Staying at WL for the first time so I will get to enjoy the resort and pool more when I usually never do. I will probably be just as sad leaving after 10 days as I am when leaving after a week. I am actually going to the F&WF this year and MVMCP, one of my favorite events!

I can't imagine that could or would ever tire of Walt Disney World. I'd stay indefinitely if I could.

The thing that starts to wear on me after a week or so has nothing to do with Disney or getting bored, etc. At that point, I just start really missing snuggling my cats and sleeping in my own bed. I need to work on just moving to Orlando so I can take those things with me, then I'd be 100% fine! :cutie:

I have never taken a solo trip, but I will be going for 9 DAYS in December all by my onesie. It is going to feel like a month though, being away from my husband.

I'm seriously considering my first international solo trip. While I have been to a couple of interstate conferences all by my lonesome, travelling to the U.S. is a big step. I invited my Mom for a NYC, WDW, LA trip. Alas, she no longer feels up to the travel. She suggested I take myself overseas. The more I think about it, the more I feel capable of going solo. So, a couple of weeks at WDW couldn't hurt. There's the Flower & Garden Festival, boats to take out, golf to play, new restaurants to try. So, why not?

I've done several solo WDW trips. In 2013, I spent 11, and 12 days in 3 resorts. It was an amazing trip, and I never got bored, or tired at all. The year before that I went for 9 nights on the Premium Plan. This trip was particularly awesome because I got to take a bunch of tours, eat at some amazing restaurants and do a bunch of recreational activities. If you can get past the price, I highly recommend trying this as a solo.

I say go for it! Whether it's at WDW, in the states or international. I personally have done numerous international solo trips and always have the best time. I really enjoy immersing myself in the local culture, navigating on my own, people watch and testing my communication skills. I enjoy travelling so much I try to go on at least one international solo trip a year. Have fun and explore.

I'm "odd" right there with you. I also did a 12 day trip, but DH came down in the middle for 3 days with me. At the end of the trip, I realized that although it was nice to see him, it would have been just as nice if I'd been solo for the whole 12 days, maybe a couple more.

I did 10 days last February at WDW, I couldn't do that again. It's a little too long. I mean I had a few days in there where I hung out with some friends from Florida. But even with that I was going a little crazy.

The longest trip I've taken is 6 nights, but I could probably stretch it to 7-8 nights. The only problem is that I'd miss my cat too much, so 5 nights is best. lol
