What is the law regarding young children riding in Limos?

We have reserved a Limo to take us from the airport to our hotel. Does anyone know what the law is regarding young children riding in Limos? Do I need to request a booster seat or can my DS ride with just a seat belt? At home he has a booster seat in the car.

How old is he?

Most of the limo companies will provide a free car seat if you ask.

I do'nt know the FL law, but, in most states public "for hire" vehicles are exempt from the car seats rules.

We are doing the same hting in MAy (Tired of always having to WAIT FOREVER for the correct Mears bus to come along.) and I was wondering the same hting. My little boy will be 4. Does anyone know? They didn't ask if we needed one on the reservations and I didn't think to ask.

Florida Car Seat Law says that a 4 year old only needs a seat belt. You should be fine! A child 3 or younger needs to be in a car seat, if you are not bringing your own mske sure to request one from the company you hired.

The law reads "Children ages 4 through 5 must be secured by either a federally approved child-restraint seat or a safety belt." If you are stopped in Fla is up to the descretion of the police officer how he reads this. Seatbelts are not made for children under 80 lbs. Every law enforcement officer knows this! If the child is under 40 lbs he/she MUST be in a car seat - be on the safe side, if the child is over 40 lbs and under 60 request a booster seat. This will avoid problems and regardless it will keep your child safer!
