Bitter is the New Black: Confessions of a Condescending, Egomanical, Self-Centered, Smartass, or Why You Should Never Carry a Prada Bag to the Unemployment Office
You beat me to him! Ironically, I was turned on to Bryson by a Brit who was surprised I'd never heard of Bryson's work and urged me to read Notes From a Small Island about his years of living and working in the UK. I did, and I loved it! I then read his American counter-piece (I'm A Stranger Here Myself) that was an effort to explain the US to his readers back in the UK and returning to his homeland.I love anything and everything by Bill Bryson.
I love anything and everything by Bill Bryson. He writes travel documentaries that are very funny and educational. Probably the most popular book he wrote is "A Walk in the Woods" about his attempt to hike the entire Appalachian Trail. My other two favorites are In a Sunburned Country (his experience touring Australia) and I'm a Stranger Here Myself (about his quest for the small town America like he experienced in his youth by travelling all around the United States). All three are funny and (basically) true

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore...
And that probably seals my fate of "you're not going to heaven now"...![]()
I always hesitate to tell anyone about this book because I don't want to offend them ... however, I TRULY believe that Jesus was laughing with Christopher Moore while he wrote this book! You have to have a sense of humor with life.
Not what I was expecting and I laughed through the whole book.
