What Is The Funnest Thing Your Kids Have Said At Disney?

I can't remember which restaurant it was it, but, back in 96' on our first visit down, we had decided to do a fancy meal at one of the resorts...the waiter comes out in a tuxedo with the cart to prepare our salads....while the waiter is preparing the salads right in front of us; disney dauther who was 5 at the time turns to her mother and says "wow mommy! and you thought Olive Garden was fancy" the look on the waiters face was priceless!!! I can only imagine which trailer park he was wondering where WE came from....

Our last trip was our first time seeing Fantasmic. We had done the Dinner package and were over on the right side near the water. The lights went off and the Native Americans began paddling across the lagoon in their canoes with the torches at the beginning of the Pocahontas sequence. Well, DD, 4, in her loudest voice asks Mommy," Is this Survivor?" DW and I are huge Survivor fans and never miss an episode. Apparently DD associates fire and torches with our favorite TV show!

My DS was 4 YO and we rode ToT together. He was very scared and did not enjoy it at all. Afterwards we were walking out of the gift shop, and he told me "Daddy, that ride scared me so bad that when I grow up and have kids, they will have to ride it by themselves!"

When my DD was 5, we had gone to Orlando to visit my father who lives there and decided to take a few days to go to WDW. After a VERY LONG DAY in Magic Kingdom (Commando Style) we were making our way to the car in the MK parking lot. My husband, my father, my grandmother and I were absolutely exhausted and couldn't wait to just relax a little on the drive back to the house. As we opened the door to let DD climb into the car she turned around and looked at us and said "OK, what's next?"!!!!

We all let out a sigh. She had just spent the entire day at WDW, and wanted to know what was next. Oh, to have the energy of a child!

Here's one more....

When DD was 4, (this was her 3rd trip to WDW) as we were driving under the arches that welcome you to WDW, my DD turns to my grandmother and says, "Oh, Grandma, this is a place GREAT!" That is now our motto for WDW....the place GREAT!

This isn't as cute as some the previous posts, but I wish I'd had video running when we were explaining to DS13 that you don't have pay for pizza, burgers, ice cream, etc... on the DCL Wonder!

A teenager with several days of unlimited access to pizza!

When we went the first time, we stayed at PO & my in-laws stayed at the Poly. One night, DH, DD's and I rode the monorail to have dinner with them and the girls stayed the evening with their papa and grandma, (DH & I went to WS). After that, the oldest, who was 6 at the time, kept asking if we could ride the "mamarail" to see Papa and Grandma at their "Hometell"

But we just returned last night, and the funniest thing was this...We, Me, DH, DS 10, were on the Jungle Cruise (at night), and the lady skipper was jabbering on, telling all about the animals and making jokes...she was VERY good. Anyway about halfway through the ride, my DS leans over to me and says " I don't think she is EVER going to stop talking!". I laughed so hard at that, then I explained to him that she is SUPPOSED to talk through the ride!!LOL!!!:teeth:

Some of these stories are a riot! I've been :rotfl:

During our first trip in 1986 my then 9 yo daughter was looking at the flamingos that are at EPCOT. After seeing so many artificial life forms she turned to me and said Mom, are these real or robots.

Oh, that last post made me think of another one. On our last trip, my middle dd was 4 and had a lot of difficulty with the animatronics issue. My 6 y.o. ds had finally had it with her questions and said, "Everything is robots, OK?" She thought a bit and then asked, "Even the people pushing strollers?"

We were watching a parade at the Magic Kingdom and Cinderella was on one of the floats. My DS, who was about four at the time, said "Mom, how did she get out of the movie?"

We were just at WDW last week... Thursday night, at about 9:30 we were about to board Pirates of the Caribbean (me, DH, and Mr. B - 5yo)... As we pass the CM asking how many in our party, Mr. B is talking with DH about how this is a boat ride - but not like Splash Mountain... DH says, "Right... It's more like It's a Small World, but cooler!" Mr. B says, "Yeah, and without that stupid song!"

The CM started cracking up, and said we just made his night!

DS, who was not quite 2, actually piped up w/ his first full sentence while at Epcot, after riding Spaceship Earth for the first time. We rode, then he darted all over exploring the postride area, all the time never saying a single word. Finally we told him it was time to move on to another ride. We got him outside and strapped into his stroller, and he looked up, pointed up at the golfball and said to me, "That's GOOD riding!"

Now anytime we go on a ride for the first time, we come off and ritually repeat, "That's GOOD riding!"

I also have an Ice Cream Social story. DS is afraid of characters, but passionate about premium vanilla ice cream. He was digging in with gusto when Mickey approached our table. Mickey made the mistake of making yummy motions in the direction of DS' ice cream, and DS tried to stab Mickey with a fork! We got it on camera, and the photo has pride of place in our upstairs hallway Disney Gallery.

Our son was three when we went in '97. He didn't talk much then, but boy oh boy, did Disney change that! Our favs with him that trip was the 'Jambears' )Country Bear Jamboree) and when we sat down for Lion King (MK). He looked around, saw the puppets and went bonkers. 'Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, LION KING!' The entire audience knew was attraction we were seeing then.
(Of course he wasn't near as funny as Daddy and the seat swapping on Catastrophe Canyon, though)! Another tale.....:)

On a trip in early February, we had a very long day at MK. We starting watching Wishes, but DS-3 decided he had enough and wanted to go back to the hotel. We were wiped out, too, so we jumped at the chance to beat the crowds out of the park. When we got off the tram, DS saw our car, ran to it and said (very lovingly), "Oh, car!" as he hugged the bumper.

Last Oct we had been at the World for 2 days and still hadn’t seen Mickey. We were on the train in Animal Kingdom when my just turned 4 year old turns to me and says:

K: Mickey and Minnie will be very upset now mama!

Me: why will they be upset, baby?

K: because they haven’t met me yet, mama!

The whole carriage was in fits. I guess she really does have a ‘princess’ complex!

I took my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter to WDW last December. We left from LaGuardia Airport in a raging snowstorm. This storm came from very low clouds, because we weren't more than 100 feet off the ground when we broke into bright sunlight. She looked out the window and announced, just loud enough for everyone on the plane to hear "Oh Grandma! I can see Florida from here!"

She loved her trip, especially Spaceship Earth. Her version of the story told there--It's the history of communication. A long time ago, cavemen used to write on the walls with crayons. Then their mommies got really mad (ah, the voice of experience speaks!), and so someone invented paper so they could write on that. Now, nobody needs paper because we all send email or use the phone." I guess she got the basic idea, anyway!

We had freaked out DS 8 by all the bigger rides..TOT, Space Mtn, Rock-n-roller Coaster, etc. But when we got on Spaceship Earth, and becan the accent, my DH turned and looked at DS, braced for another wild ride, and said "hope you seat belt is tight and your lap bar locked". Well, DS went into full blown panic attack, knowing that he was finally gonna be ejected right out of the car!!! It took forever for me to convince him that we were going to go no faster, and that all the safety restraints were not needed! His dad had him about ready to mees himself! Don't thing he ever forgave him for that one.

DD in Wilderness Lodge, looking at a really cool totem pole of Donald, etc. DS said Donald always is with his nephews, why didn't he have kids of his own? And DD, 10, said it was becase he has a low sperm count. :earseek:

Love this thread!

DDs first trip to WDW, she was two weeks shy of turning 3. We walked up to the turnstiles at MK, as she turned to me and said in full drama mode, "Oh, Mommy, I've finally made it!"

Same DD, same day, we were at the Lion King show in MK (it is no longer there, but was just an anamatronic version of the movie). The preshow involved lots of thunder and lightning which she was not fond of, but she was okay as we entered the theater. When Scar and the hyenas come out there was more thunder and some smoke and sparks. The poor girl screamed, "FIRE!!!!" and crawled over my sister to get onto my lap (upon which her baby sister was already sitting). She's 7 now, and hasn't been able to do a dark ride since.
