I've seen this referred to a couple of times when people were talking about ap's, but I don't know what it is. Can someone please explain? Thanks!

The DDE used to be available to FL residents only, to entice them to spend money at WDW by dining there. They opened it this year to AP holders as well. It is $50 and you can use it at most table service restaurants for 20% off your bill. It paid for itself in 4 days when we went in March. We'll be using it 10 days in December and will save about $200 I figure with all the character meals we are doing. You can use it to pay for you and 9 other people so it works great for Grand Gatherings or large families. If you do a decent amount of table service it should pay for itself and then some.

We used it in July and saved about $40.00. It is valid for one year from the time you purchase the card.

Looking forward to having DDE discounts in November...big draw for me is that 20% discounts applies to so many restaurants AND includes WINE! (i think it actually includes any alcoholic beverages, I just know we will all be drinking wine) Lots of other dining discounts EXCLUDE adult beverages( and are usually only in the 10% range for food)

Is this a card or something that you have to show when you are checking out? Do you have to show your AP's?? We are AP holders, and Im going to get this for our Thanksgiving trip, and use it again in January for our 10 day trip. SO they are good for one year, starting the day you activate them? Do they require proof that you are an AP holder when you are at restaurants? I was excited to see that the all stars food courts were part of the DDE!

It is a card that you show when paying your bill. You don't have to show your AP when using the card but do have to provide the numbers off the back of your AP when ordering the card.

It was well worth it for just the two of us since we do tend to eat one TS a day and the fact that it's good at the value food courts is great.

You do have to be either an AP holder or hold a voucher for exchange for an AP when you order the card. The card can only be purchased Mon-Fri (business hours) and by phone (it can not be purchased at the parks). Your card will have the AP holder's name on it and the server can request ID check at any time to make sure you are the holder. You get 2 cards, one for you and one for your spouse or significant other--21 years of age.

As a FL resident we have had the card for a few years now. It is a great savings to us. We just present the card towards the end of the meal. We used to tell the server up front, but they always told us to give it at the end of the meal.
