What is the difference is Resort view and Lakeview at Dolphin?

Just wondered exactly what a resortview is? If we want to face Epcot which view do we want?

We had water view and we could see MGM to the left and Epcot to the right. I would think from resort view you would not see the parks so well or at all.

I thought the rates went from standard to lakeview to resortview...Is that incorrect? If so,what would you see from a resortview that would make it more?

I have never stayed there before...February will be the first time, but I was under the impression that if I wanted the chance to see Epcot and Illuminations, I had to get a "resort" view room. I am paying $189 a night instead of the standard $144 a night with the nurses' rate, so I'd sure better be getting a better view! Can some of the Swan Dolphin Cheerleaders help us out here?

We were supposed to have a resort view this summer, but we could not see the Epcot fireworks from where we were. We could see the lake and MGM. If you are paying extra to see the fireworks, I would call and double check on that. It may have been that a resort view room wasn't ready when we did early check in. It was a nice view and we wouldn't have been in the room for fireworks anyway.

The way it was explained to me is that "resort view" means you see the SD resort--not the parks. This should mean the beach area, the grotto pool and the courtyards.

If that's truly the xase, you may have a better chance at seeing the parks with the waterview room.

I never know what kind I get, cause I just ask for "Epcot View with a balcony" and that's what I always get. SInce it does look out over the water, I'm thinking that's Waterview...
