What is the difference in staterooms on deck 2 as opposed to deck 7?

I hear and seee everyone posting comments about the difference in the staterooms...
Can someone tell me what the difference is between a room on deck 2 and deck 6 or 7 please..

I dont know if I missed something in my readings or in my Passport book...

Thanks....

I think it's just a matter of location mainly. There are probably more "noisy" rooms on deck 2, being that you have a lot of the night clubs above you in some sections. I have been on deck 2 twice. Enjoyed it very much both times. Very convient for getting to dinner and to the nighttime activities, also very convient to getting off the ship at port. It's just a walk of the stairs down to get off, and one flight up to eat and party!!

There are no verandah's on deck 2 though. Just outside and inside staterooms. The "noisy" rooms tend to be under wavebands. I had a "noisy" room on my last cruise, really wasn't too, too bad. Just the faint base sound--just note it does go on until 2am.

Deck 1 has been my personal fav so far. Quiet as a mouse down there. Also, just as easy to get off the ship, and still only 2 flights up to eat. Port holes are smaller on deck 1 (you actually get two small port holes rather then the one large one.)

But as far as size, all the outside staterooms are the same--regardless of which deck you are on. I think most people just prefer to be on decks a little higher.. especially families so they are near the pools and children areas.

Thanks....I just wondered what all the hoopla was on these threads about what rooms are this or that.... :teeth:
Thanks a ton, we have 2 adjoining rooms on deck 2...with the 4' windows. I wished I could find a decent pic of what it is going to look like or the size it is, there are 6 of us ...

I perfer the lower decks, b/c the higher you go, the more motion I feel on the boat. For whatever reason I really feel the motion that last night. I love deck 2!

I was in a Cat. 9 on deck 2 last year. The noise from the ships side thrusters woke me up when docking in the morning. Also, on debarkation day I could hear workers unloading and loading at 6 AM. I didn't hear any noise in 6058 this year. Slept great.

I moved up to 6 because of the noise, not because of the Veranda. Of course the veranda was very nice.

Of the cruises we've taken, 4 were on deck 2 and 1 on deck 7, all have been Cat. 9, I too prefer deck 2 due to fact that we did not feel the motion of the ship as much as the higher decks.....We have a 9 booked for next year on deck 2.....we have always been midship which made it very convenient to the restaurants and theatres......of course everyone will have a different opinion, this one is mine......Andy

 MJ, were you on deck 2? This may sound stupid, but did the waves hit your window? We have a Cat 9 on deck 2 and I've been a bit worried about how high the waves can get...:hyper:

We have been in Cat9 deck 2 four times with #5 booked for August. The waves do not hit the window, and we always go in August and have skirted some hurricanes with high seas. We love deck 2 and unless someones gives me the money for a CAT6 would not pay the difference.

Ditto markey.....all off our cruises have been late August/early September and have never had any weather problems....I feel the same as you do about the Cat 9 deck 2 rooms.....Andy
