What is the deal with people booting others

I have been booted out of 3 rooms before I could even find myself. One person booted me because I asked how they played their game. They had no explinations posted. I understand I am fairly new to the game, but if people won't help how are you to learn. It's a game. There is enough rude people in the real world without having them in VMK.

What is the trick to playing cute or boot games?

Cute or boot is just a way to make enemies in vmk in my book. If people think you aren't 'cute' they boot you. I say the trick is to find a friendly cute or boot room, look hideous, and explain that if they think that I'm ugly, then they don't know what ugly is.

I agree that if the premis of the room is to boot people who don't appeal to you then that is an easy way to make enemies. I don't find this game that easy to play. I can't get past the 5th level in the diver game , or the 1st level in the space game. I guess it may be because i am playing with dial-up ,but where I live you can only get satellite as a fast connection and it is $70 month. I never could load the yeti game to play. It would be wonderful if someone out there who like to play these games could help me out with the codes after they played. Please email me if you interested. Thank you.

I think a lot of the booting is immaturity. I get booted sometimes when I am in someones room, they offer me something in trade and I don't want it and boom, I get the boot. It is like you have to play my way or not at all. I just laugh, put their name in a little notebook to remind me not to trade with them again.

There is a Dis person a kid who does it all the time to me. I decline a trade and he boots me. Sometime I go into his room just to see how long it is going to take. There was one time someone was offering Beta but it wasn't beta. I warned the room about it because someone might get taken. I think it is a scam. Maybe they thought it was beta but when they are corrected and then still try to trade it as beta it is a scam. So I wanted the room. It turns out the boy was a friend of the Dis boy and I got booted for that. So that told me that he is not honest and is quite immature.

Don't take booting personally. Some people seem to boot everyone except their own little circle of friends. VMK added a feature where you can make your room open only to people on your friends list. Hopefully some of the booters will figure out how to use that feature. Other people seem to boot people just because they can.

As for cute or boot, I don't think it's worth fretting over. The host is going to determine if they think you are cute or not based on whatever criteria they choose. There's a good chance that criteria is determined by the host's mood at the moment. I agree it would be good to dress like the host to increase your chances of not being booted. However, some people hate it when people copy them so you might want to vary your outfit a bit from the host's. I prefer to play ugly or boot. That's a bit more challenging and the host isn't likely to be vain.

The only time I get ticked off with booting is when I try to join a Haunted Mansion game and the person who started the game leaves me on the list and then boots me off just before they start playing the game. If you don't want me to play in your game, please boot me immediately.

If I had my way I would eliminate Cute or Boot games altogether. It's so unbelievably shallow. But I guess since our society is so focused on looks, we gotta start 'em off young.
