What is the DDE temporary card like?

Just wondering what Guest Relations will give us as a DDE temporary card. I have read that it is a letter. Can anyone confirm? It seems that it would be pretty inconvenient to carry around a letter. If we fold it up to put in a wallet, towards the end of the trip it could be in pretty rough shape.

I am hoping that someone will tell me it is not actually a letter, but rather some form of temporary "card".

Also, does anyone know what time Guest Relations at Epcot closes each day? Is it open as long as the park?

It's a letter with a card that can be kept in your wallet.....no one asked for the letter....I just showed the card....

In May, we received 2 printed pages -- one is the so-called "letter" and the other is a list of who accepts DDE. Every place we used the DDE, we had to show our "letter". We didn't receive our plastic "cards" until 4 weeks later. I've heard the turn-around is much better now.

Laminate the letter if you have the ability to. That's what we did, and I'm sure glad we did! Between the rain and wet rides, it would have been in shambles. Of course, this was back in February/March, so I don't know exactly how the temporary letter/card is handled now.

We just picked up our temp cards 2 weeks ago. They are now a credit card sized paper card with your name and expiration date on it. They also include a letter telling you all the restaurants that participate.

I didn't save all of our receipts to see how much we actually saved but I know we saved over $150 in just 9days! It is a great program.

That is so great to hear! Something small that can easily slip into our wallet is perfect. And to put off the activation until the last possible day will mean an expiration date further out into the future. Thanks everyone!

Does anyone know if you can pick this up at the IG? We will be at the BW and it would be much easier than trekking all the way to the front of the resort.

Nope, gotta pick them up put front.. sorry about that ..
We had the same problem.

Glad to hear they are using cards now .. good idea. By the end of a week, my letter was a wrinkled mess.

OK, calm me stupid but what is a DDe card? Oh and while I'm at it, can I ask if anyone has the site that has all the disney codes and what they mean? TIA :sunny:

DDE is Disney Dining Experience. It is available to FL residents and AP holders. It provides 20% discounts on almost all full service restaurants at WDW as well as food courts at resorts that don't have full service restaurants.

Can AP holders only get the DDE card? I've tried looking on the disney website and can't find any information on it (price, which restaurants you can go to, etc). Thanks - Lori

Sorry, I just read the whole thread and realized my questions have been answered!!
