What is the craziest job you ever held?

i dont consider it crazy,, but every september and october dw myself and our best friends run a benifit haunted house for a local charity

its a blast .

and i love it when these huge football player types cant make it past the first room of the house.

This was in the 70's and I hope by now they have come up with a new way to do this but .... I worked on the Ground Crew (lawn mower) of our local Police Dept after school 4 days a week. One day they asked me and another guy if we could work late that night to help them destroy old evidence from the crime lab. Sounded kind of fun to me so I said sure (hey I was a kid) so we load box after box up the stairs and in to this big white van and drive up to the police gun range about ten miles out of town. Little did I know I was driving around in a van (with two cops by the way) with over two hundred pounds of pot :smokin: ya know, weed, mary jane whatever you want to call it we had a bunch. It took hours to burn it (yes we wore masks and no I didn't pick up the habit) but I think some of the wildlife in the area were having a good time lol.

I bet the squirrels in the area went thru their storehouse of nuts in about 30 minutes. Munchies are deadly! :rotfl2:

I spent a couple of seasons working the potato harvest. For a few weeks each fall you crawl up on a big machine being pulled by a tractor and go up and down the potato fields digging up the potatoes. Those of us in the back had to sort the potatoes and throw off any bad ones as the came over the conveyor belt. It was a hot, dirty and smelly (rotten potatoes) but it paid well and I liked the people. Long after I had a regular job I would take a week or two off during the harvest and go back to help.

When was 17 I moved to Oahu Hawaii,The only job I could get (because I was a "Howlie") was as a "Chicken Choker" the chickens would come by on a conveyor belt in a metal cage with just head sticking out and............well you know,I did my job........needless to say I didn't keep the job long.

:scared1: :faint:
Thats awful!

I worked as an engraver at a local jewelry store. Engraved my fair share of Spidell charm/I.D bracelets each spring as prom gifts. I did engrave our wedding rings, though.

I was a party clown and character balloon delivery entertainer. I played many, many characters. Some of my favorites were Miss Fifi the stripping pig, Mary the Mourner (mourning your lost youth) and a bag lady. The very best one I ever did was a Bertha the Bag Lady. I went to a bachelor party dressed in my finest bag lady chic outfit and for good measure stuffed a pillow under my dress to look pregnant. I then publicly accused the groom to be of being the father of my child (I was hired by the bride). I'm a fabulous actress if I do say so myself. The groom was mortified, the guests were laughing hysterically and I hammed it up more than I ever have in my life. I charged $65 for about 30 minutes of my time and including tips I got afterwards made $150 and booked 4 new deliveries from on lookers. God, I miss that job!

These jobs are hilarious!! I can't believe the things we do for money :rotfl2:

Crusing garage sales to hunt bargains for one older lady who sold things on Ebay, I made expenses and lunch but it was fun

The lucky duck pond at the local county fair. nuff said.

I used to be called Fred Garvin...nuff said

1st I need to say that everyone else wins.

When I was in college I took a job as a, well I can't remember what it was called. I was a "paid" (not very good though) big sister to some kids in the foster care system. Some of them were pretty crazy cases. (some were just sweet kids, in bad situations.) Still I ended up driving kids all around the City of Detroit and doing activities with them. In the summer it wasn't too bad, winter we ran out of things to do.

The crazy part is I still went into Social Work. I guess I never learn.

Really the job was good in many ways, I loved those kids, but in so many ways it was crazy and so unsafe the things we did and places we went with kids who were really out of control.
