What is the chance EPCOT will reach maximum capacity on 12/25?

So, we're planning to hit Epcot at 8:00 am on 12/25. My hope is to book a C/P package for the evening. Here's my question....

If we leave Epcot after lunch and plan to return for 5:00 candlelight processional, is there even a slim chance that Epcot will be closed? (Oh, we're staying on-site by the way) Should I be afraid to leave for fear of being turned away at say, 4:30?

Thanks Christmas Veterans! :santa:

It will be 'spam in a can' tight, but I haven't heard of Epcot closing, even on Christmas.

That said, you might want to plan a fair bit of time just getting back INTO the park. It's bound to be backed up in the parking lot and at the bag check, not to mention wading through the crowds for CP.

Keep in mind, even though you are staying on site it doesn't mean you'll get into the park if it's closed due to capacity. You will get into A PARK, but it may not be the one you want. I personally would not leave unless you really can't help it.

OK, I'll play.

I'll say that there is a possiblity that it will fill-up.
So if you want to make SURE you're there in the evening, don't leave.

OTOH, there is the possibility that it won't fill-up.
So if you really want to leave, you'll probably get back in.

If anyone says anything different from this, they are guessing just as much as I am.
Because, like the weather, ANYTHING can happen on any given date in different years.

We went to Epcot on Dec. 31, 1999. At 7:00am they were turning non-resort guests away at the parking lot "toll booth". So it can happen, but that was a once in a millenium thing.

Why would you want to waste time leaving and then trying to get back in?

This is just my take...

This past Christmas, we arrived at Epcot at 10:30ish...it opened at 9:00, I believe. Was very worried with all the talk about getting there so you wouldn't be shut out, etc... we were pleasantly surprised at the very manageable crowds. Now, as the day wore on, it became more and more full.
We, too had a CP package at 5:00PM and let me tell you, you need to line up EARLY to get a "good" seat. (None of them are "bad") but you know what I mean.

I agree that you will waste vast amounts of time leaving the park and coming back, so my advice would be to get there a little later and just plan to stay.

This is what we did and it worked beautifully, even with three kids!

Depends on the weather. A few years ago we were in Epcot for Christmas Day and it rained ALL day. NOTHUN' extra was going on. Santas, tree lighting were cancelled. Just a regular day, except cold, wet and the place was dead.
