From Aulani, looking west, what is the bump (crater, mountain, hill, whatever) that is off in the distance? The one that is pictured in the arch on the current Aulani Photopass border? It made such a gorgeous picture from Secret Beach/Paradise Cove that I want to know what it is! TIA!

Sorry. If you're on the point of the rocks at Aulani (or say from Paradise Cove) looking west. I'll upload a pic once someone replies to my thread on how to resize from the iPhone LOL

Ohhhhh sorry!! Ok, how about if you're at Aulani facing the ocean, to your right!!! Swear I thought THAT was west.

Wait a second.....the sun didn't set straight out from Aulani, it was off to the right of the beach. Still think the hill/crater/whatever is mostly west. Anyway, I'm not seeing anything on any map with a name...any clue?

ahhh ok then. And yes, Aulani faces west, but the way the lagoons are angled they sort of face a tiny bit south. The sun sets depending on the time of year, a little north or a little south

Anyway, there is the whole Waianae range that starts right about there, and goes right up the leeward coast. It's all mountains the whole way.

Gotcha! Thanks!!! That view from Paradise Cove is amazing.

the coast just north of Kaneohe is even more stunning, Oahu is underated for its natural beauty, especially compared to say, Maui.

Totally agree! I think a lot of people just go to Waikiki and maybe the Arizona Memorial or Hanauma Bay when they come to Oahu. There is so much more to the island. Even the ride through the middle on the H3, so amazing.

The H3 ride is just breathtaking. If you are there during a few days of heavy rain, ride over and then turn around and ride back. Every one of those crevices in the rocks is a waterfall.

Oh wow, I will keep that in mind for our next trip! thanks...
