You can join Classmates without paying. You only pay to be a Gold Member which allows you to have a profile and e-mail, etc..

You can try a host of other Internet search methods, but you need to be very perisistent and very patient.

Is this someone you went to school with? Do you still live in your hometown? Phone book (or a google search) or word of mouth would be the route I'd take.

I moved to South Dakota in 1984, and he was in Walnut California, I did a a couple of people search and there is no one in walnut with that name.. but there is like 12 people with the same name... I already joined Classmates.com for the free, but for one email address the 39.00 is a little pricey

I know the feeling. For all my friends that I went to high school with in italy, it'll cost $39.00 to sign up & get it. I miss them all, but $39.00 is pricey for me as far as that goes....

I don't know if this is still free but I was able to go into a discussion board on either classmates.com or highschoolalumni.com & I found a former classmate on there. I was in search of my best friend from H.S. since we lost touch. We had both married so we had diff last names & we both moved away so there was no way to find my friend. Thru this discussion board, I found a mutual friend who got me in touch with my best friend! It was the best experience ever! Altho we have not been able to get together due to geographic locations, we e-mail or call each other often. It's like we never lost touch all those years (like 29 years ago!)
