What is the best value for this scenario?

2 adults (husband and wife), 2 children (1 yr old and 3 yrs old).

Two separate, closed off, sleeping areas are a must (whether it be two connecting rooms, or a suite with two bedrooms closed off from one another).

I'd like to know what the most economical way we can go to Disney is...

I also wonder about Doubletree suites (isn't there one on disney property) and others like this. (Swan and Dolphin too?)

I'm just overwhelmed with all of the numbers now, and hope someone can narrow this down for me. I'm open to any option of connecting rooms too; but they must be connected due to our very young children.

Probably 2 connecting rooms is the most economical, but the family suites would probably be more comfortable. Other options are also renting DVC points for a 1 bedroom or Fort Wilderness Cabins.

Staying on property offers perks that cheaper accomodations off property don't, so you may want to weigh in those perks as well. You can get free Magical Express to your Disney resort and back again - this saves from renting a car if you are only going to Disney; you can access parks w/extended morning and evening hours, have purchases forwarded to your Disney resort, you can purchase the Disney Dining Plan, and that's it off the top of my head.

For what it's worth, our experience w/little ones is that it does not take long for them to fall right to sleep after a busy day in the parks - you are only laying in the dark w/them a little bit of time!

What about a Fort Wilderness cabin? Then you have a kitchen for the little ones, too?

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) last Sept. (2006)

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no meatle bar to hurt the sleepers back.

If you are looking strictly at money, you'll probably come out best to stay off site. There are several decent condos in the $100 range with 2 or even 3 separate bedrooms, complete with a living room area and a kitchen area. Especially with you coming in the slow season, you should be able to find a reasonable room. With two families splitting the cost, you can hardly beat that.
