I am trying to start planning a trip for me and DH alone for dec 2006 and would really love to get to do a tour since the kids will not be coming this time.

Which ones do you recommend? Do you know the prices and how far out they sell out. I heard of Backstage ones....

Any insight would be great.

We did keys to the kingdom a couple of years ago as a suprise for dh's birthday. We had our 2 dds one that had just turned 16. When we were in the waiting area I heard them complaining it looked like an old peoples tour. Now I don't consider myself old but............. Anyway we all ended up really enjoying this tour and I would recommend it.
In December we are trying the Segway Tour. Last time we went I tried to book this about 60 days out with no luck on any of our days. Now this time I booked it about 125 days out and we will be enjoying it. It really sounds fun and my dh has been in love with segways since the first time he saw one.
I have to say the backstage tour sounds cool, but I can't get over the price!

I second the segway tour. me and dh just took it in July and it was great. Now a lot of Disney history, but it was a very intimate tour (10 people) and the segways are great. I believe it was 60 bucks a person with the Disney Visa discount.

Three favorite tours here (we've done five). Segway tour, Key to the Kingdom, and Undiscovered Future World (Epcot with Robert). Remember there are discounts with AP, DVC, AAA, and Disney Visa.

We are doing the segway tour and the backstage magic tour on our next trip. Although the backstage magic tour is expensive it goes behind the scenes in the MK, Epcot and MGM. The tour lasts all day. My friends took this tour last time and enjoyed it so much they are doing it again with us.

We've done 3 of the tours: Keys to the Kingdom, Wild by Design and Undiscovered Futureworld. By far we think Keys to the Kingdom was our best tour. This tour also includes lunch making it a good value. And as other posters have mentioned, there are many discounts available for the tours.

We're going for the first time alone this September. We picked the Backstage Magic tour so we can see part of each park. The price is higher but this tour does not require a park pass for the day. So we won't be wasting one of our pass days. We figure we'll be tired from touring so we're planning a nice dinner at our resort and relaxing!!

My wife suprised me for our 10th anniv. in June with a Segway tour. I too had been in love with them since seeing them for the first time at Disney. I had two great guides for my tour. One was a trainee type and the other was the official guide. We ended up touring World Showcase before it even opened.....Very Cool!!! Our guide also took us in and out of every nook and cranny there and added very interesting info including where to spot some hidden Mickey's. We also stopped at an area near the America pavillion where we were allowed to "freeride" and get off the segways and take pictures. I placed my camcorder on a trash can and let it record away. The guides also were happy to take pictures of each of us on our segways. You could even get a great picture of yourself on the segway with Spaceship Earth in the background. Made for the perfect picture.
