What is the best thing you've eaten at Disney World?

We're looking for a place to have a nice, sit down, casual dinner for our August trip. We want both delicious steaks and fresh Florida sea-food! We are already booked for a dinner at California Grille, (it was a surprise - kind of from DP) but when I looked at the menu, I wasn't very impressed because I'm a very picky eater and don't necessarily care for all the added "extras" offered with these dinners. In your opinion, what is the BEST meal you've had at Disney, and what was the restaurant called? Thanks in advance!!

P.S. Add pictures of if you'd like, if you have them!

Well, I don't like seafood, so I can't help you there, but the best steak I've ever eaten in my life (no exaggeration) was at Yachtsman Steakhouse. I like my steak well done, and as you can imagine, it's not always easy to get one both well done and tender. I could cut this with a fork! It was fabulous.

I had never heard of Yachtsman Steakhouse! Where is it located? Although I do not like my steak well done, I can imagine a well done steak being rather tough, but it sounds like a "magical" steakhouse if it can make a well done steak tender!

Yachtmans Steakhouse is at the Yacht Club. Epcot area resort. My best meal was a salmon sandwich from LeCelliar in Canada. . .several friends had the filet and said it was to die for. My son had the Lamb Chops at Jiko, he said it was his best meal ever at WDW.

LeCellier...wild mushroom risotto and filet YUMMY! I also loved the Yatchsman :goodvibes

I actually really, really, really enjoyed my dinner at The Wave in the Contemporary. I booked it pretty much because nothing else was available and I thought what the heck, I'll try it. I had a filet mignon that was out of this world. Everything we ate there was super tasty and the atmosphere and staff were out of this world. I'd highly recommend it.

The best thing I've had is the chicken pita at The Mara at AKL. I find myself craving it sometimes. I also had to learn to make the salad dressing from Ohana b/c DH and I loved it so much.

I'd say the best thing I've eaten at wdw were the soups at Boma. They make a seafood stew that is just delicious!

However, if you don't like "extras" you might not like the different flavors used at Boma.

the california grill has been excellent when i've gone there. it's a little fancy but the food is terrific.

narcoossee's has also been a top choice for me, along with jiko at AKL (and boma, but the buffet there doesn't sound like what you are looking for.)

I just asked my family. DH says - Ohanas' from dinner to the bananas bread pudding? (hes an all you can eat kinda guy). DS#1 Jiko filet w mac & cheese - DS#2 Cosmic Rays Hamburger - Me Everything at CG, Jiko and Narcooses. LOL - Disney is for everyone.

DH and I went to Narcoossee's for his 50th birthday last August and our dinner was just wonderful from appetizer to dessert - and romantic.

The very best is Victoria & Alberts and the best dish I've had there was the Japanese waygu beef (although in all our visits here, I've never had a dish that I didn't love). I'm not a big meat eater but that beef was exceptional.

Second favorite thing was at Jiko and it was the chantarelle soup with fresh pumpkin seeds. Of course, it's no longer on the menu but I hope it returns someday.

Third favorite was the scallops at bluezoo.

To pick one best thing is hard but something I absolutely love is the BBQ chicken flatbread at Jiko. The chicken is in their own BBQ sauce with tamarind and coffee I believe. It has four cheeses and the best part is it is topped with a green apple-Jicama chilled slaw. It is sooo delicious.

My other choices would be the Caesar salad at Narcoossees', the Short Ribs and the Lamb Shank at Citricos, the Porterhouse at Yachtsman, the Snapper at Flying Fish, the Bison and ANY sushi from Cali grill.

There are so many wonderful choices-enjoy!:goodvibes

Blackened Mahi-Mahi Caesar Salad at Big River Grille and Brewing Works at the Boardwalk. Very unique caesar salad, and outstanding beer.

My best thing was the Prime Rib at Le Cellier. Here's a pic:

Slab o' Meat. roasted potatoes, au jus, and horseradish cream sauce. If you are not partial to the sauce, get it without.

DH ordered the buffalo at Artist Point; I don't know if it was a sirloin or a filet, as the offering changes periodically, but that was the best thing I've ever tasted in my life!! I was covetous of his plate, though my salmon was also very good.

Honorable mentions:

The mushroom filet over risotto at LeCellier was the perfect dish. I loved the combination of flavors.

The best dessert I ever tasted is the bread pudding at 'Ohana (and I'm not really a big dessert fan).

this is more of a "restaurants" type thread not so much a resort thread.

I am very new to these boards, I posted it in the resorts forum because the California Grille is in fact at a WDW Resort, and I also failed to see the Disney Dining Forum! Whoops!
