What is the best reason for going to war with Iraq?

What is the best reason for going to war with Iraq?

  • TO PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE UN.

  • PROTECT PEOPLE OF IRAQ AND NEIGHBOURS

  • PROTECTING AMERICA FROM THE SPECIFIC THREAT OF IRAQ

  • AFTER 9/11 THE REST OF THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW AMERICA WILL NOT STAND BACK AND ALLOW ATTACKS ON IT'S

I just want to add this about the supposed Iraq 9/11 connetion. . .

The facts show 2 things:

1) The weapons used to hijack the planes used in the 9/11 attack were not "weapons of mass destruction" but rather they were boxcutters.

2) The terrorists who pulled off the 9/11 attacks were Saudi nationals, not Iraqis. . and they came into the US illegally and untrained enough that they needed to sign up for pilot lessons to figure out how to carry out the attack..

How Iraq was invovled or even why they would have been needed to be remains a mystery to me. . .

Ain't this a love fest!?!?

Edit: I don't mean the issue - just all the compliments and slaps on the backs going on here:)

Should be some more choices up there. One of which Chief Hans has said so well:

Iraq must comply!!

If only Saddam was a reasonable man WITHOUT WMD!!

Now I don't agree with you guys but you are entitled to your own opinion. After all this is a FREE COUNTRY!

Here's some good reasons NOT to go to war:

:D

I would think Iraqi compliance is covered under "protecting the integrity of the UN"

Willy, AGAIN, you are my hero!

And, as far as celebrities voicing their opinions when they differ from yours, just try to remind yourself that one of the great things about this country is that you are allowed to publicly disagree with a current administration and that does not make you unpatriotic or mean you do not love this country. It's the dictators like Saddam Hussein that have their country's dissenters killed or imprisoned. America is strong enough for everyone to be allowed to voice their opinions. If a celebrity's personal life, for whatever reason, makes you uncomfortable, then you can decide to not go to his/her movies, listen to their music...but I hope we never get to the point that we lose that right of free speech.

aMEN, suzannen! We have the right to say and feel whatever we want and that's the BLESSINGs of this free democracy. I cannot tell you how all my life I've been against what public people's views and beliefs. But I am thrilled to live in a country that will now shoot you in the street or arrest you for feeling that way.

Love fest? These types of posts usually turn into HATE fests. I'm pleased that this one has not yet!

This is interesting from next week's edition of Newsweek. See http://www.msnbc.com/news/876128.asp
March 3 issue — Hussein Kamel, the highest-ranking Iraqi official ever to defect from Saddam Hussein’s inner circle, told CIA and British intelligence officers and U.N. inspectors in the summer of 1995 that after the gulf war, Iraq destroyed all its chemical and biological weapons stocks and the missiles to deliver them.....

Kamel’s revelations about the destruction of Iraq’s WMD stocks were hushed up by the U.N. inspectors, sources say, for two reasons. Saddam did not know how much Kamel had revealed, and the inspectors hoped to bluff Saddam into disclosing still more. And Iraq has never shown the documentation to support Kamel’s story. Still, the defector’s tale raises questions about whether the WMD stockpiles attributed to Iraq still exist.
