I will have free time while my DH is at a convention in April. This will be my first trip w/o my kids. I am looking forward to exploring one or more parks by myself.:cool1: I was thinking that Epcot would be a fun one. Any suggestions. I will only have two mornings. I am a little nervous that this trip will be difficult because I will miss the kids. I want to avoid MK.
Thanks,
Tara

I think it really depends on the person. What have you always wanted to do, but not been able to because of the other people in your party?

Ride the thrill ride at MGM?
take some time to really explore the shops in the World Showcase?
stay and watch the tigers for a while at AK?

Use this as an opportunity to actually do what you've dragged yourself away from in the past because no one else in your party wants to.

I agree that you should use this as an opportunity to spend some time at the park you enjoy the most. All of the parks can be fun to do solo.

My personal favorite is Animal Kingdom. I am an animal lover, and enjoy the animal exhibits that allow you to explore at your own pace. World Showcase at Epcot is another great opportunity to explore at your own pace.

Another vote for AK here! I always get at least two times a trip when no one wants to get up and go with me anywhere, and this past July I decided to hit AK since no one else will ride Everest with me. The single rider line is awesome for any ride that has one!
AK is my favourite park just for the ability to wander aimlessly and drink it all in (I guess the same could be said for any where in WDW actually!). I like to wander through the Pangani Forest trail and spend a while watching the gorillas, toodle through Asia and see the tigers, and wander through some of the shops without worrying where everyone else in my family is at the time. I especially had fun at Camp Minnie Mickey greeting the characters - I got to see them while the Festival of the Lion King show was on, so no one was around and I was the only one to see Goofy & Donald - they clowned around with me awhile and got some great photos with just me!
My favourite aside, just being able to wander on my own at any park is fun to me, although I agree with you and I stay away from MK on my own - too many things I see and wish the kids or DH was there to share it with me!
Enjoy your time alone to take things in at your own pace - it can be quite magical on your own, but I always make sure to take lots of pictures while I'm by myself so I can share them with everyone that missed it!
Enjoy!:cloud9:

I agree Totally! I love taking my time thru both areas but I
never have the oppertunity to be by myself.
So whenever I would like to look longer, everyone else is ready to go.
So enjoy everything at your own pace.
Have a Great Trip! :goodvibes

Whenever I go solo, I always do the things I like to do at WDW that I cannot do when I am traveling with family and friends. Therefore I don't think there is a best park to do as a solo.

I would think that Epcot is the place best to do solo. The rest of the family never seems interested in wandering around all the countries for as long as I do. There are so many shops and places to explore there.

I never have been solo but I would love to do Epcot solo or at least with just another adult. I would love to be able to go to all the stores without saying "Don't touch". I also like to people watch and think MGM would be a great place for that.

I too am looking forward to Epcot alone . We didn't get to the World as a family and it will be my first day planned park withsupper at Biergarten . I enjoyed being with the family but I am not a Thrill rider and so much time was spent on those rides. I loved Soarin" and Buzz Lightyear of all the rides. But the all time fav. was Spectra which I did alone and I can't wait to do it again and again. Strangely enough MK was not the family's favorite MGM was!!

EpCot
was at WDW March 06 for a few days solo. That was the trip when I finally heard Off Kilter! Decided then that when I turn 50 Nov 07 (less than 10 wks to go) that I want to be spending my birthday afternoon w/Off Kilter! (How I wish I could get behind stage!)
Was in WDW this past April for a week solo - spend most of my afternoons listening to Off Kilter

Going back again this Nov (for my 50th) and while not getting to as many OK sets as I did in April I have ALOT planned solo
2 Food & Wine events
Segway tour
Dolphin Encounter at Living Seas (my bday morn)
Lunch in Norway w/the princesses
about 6/7 solo lunch ARs
MVMCP - yup Im going to the party solo!
Meeting up w/ppl for the Wishes bday cruise and Osborne Lights

enjoy your trip - you'll wish you did it sooner

Epcot

4 out of my 9 days at WDW in October at there.
6 Food and Wine Events
1 Dinner

Should be a good time :D
