What is the best Park for a 1 1/2 year old

We took our son in May at 18 months. We didn't go to the Studios. He liked Epcot and AK, but I'd say he liked AK a little better. He loved the FOTLK show and really enjoyed seeing the animals on the walking paths & safari. We ate lunch at Tusker House and he was a big fan.

Animal kingdom is so exciting for toddlers. Real animals plus the shows in a vibrant happy world will keep her interest. At that age my daughter loved playing in the boneyard playground.

Another vote for AK. (And don't miss the train out to Rafiki's planet watch!)

Animal Kingdom. There's plenty of animals to see as well as rides/attractions.

OH MY!!!!! I was for sure it was going to be Epcot! Now I need to re-think :badpc:

Me too. I was going to say Epcot. But honestly, when our oldest was that age, I think he just enjoyed being out and about. He was as happy at the mall as he was at Disney. New faces. New sounds. We picked the park for us at that age, not for him. But I do remember him liking Epcot - lots of room to run. Or maybe, we just enjoyed Epcot and not having to keep him constrained in so many attraction lines.

My kids love Epcot. They loved playing in the fountains, kidcot stops, The Land ride, spaceship Earth, turtle talk, Etc.

Another vote for Animal Kingdom. Besides all the live animals and fun shows the character meet with Mickey and Minnie at the Adventurers Outpost was the best one we did with my granddaughter last time we went.

It is a bit based on the child. My general sense would be AK as well. The environment with the animals, shows, etc. is more stimulating for many children. I think everyone's reasons are well founded.

With that, Epcot also has some elements. The fountains, LwtL, the Seas, etc. can be great (as long as there isn't extreme fear of the dark). And, there are more boat-oriented attractions (indoor and outdoor) at Epcot if that's something your little one may enjoy. Epcot also offers the various entertainers in the countries. (AK has this too. But, Epcot probably offers a little more.)

One other consideration is the heat and being outside. Both parks are pretty large. AK, by design, has fewer indoor opportunities. October is a bit of a gamble weather-wise. If it looks like it may be pretty hot, and your little one is sensitive to that, I may vote Epcot - since you can duck into a theater-based attraction, pavilion, etc. with air conditioning pretty easily from most areas of the park.

Enjoy!!

What difference does it make? He/she isn't going to remember it. Go to a park you'll enjoy.

We took our daughter for the first time at 15 months. I would say her/our favorite parks on that trip were AK and MK. I felt like we were able to do more, ride wise, at MK. But the Mickey and Minnie M&G at AK was fantastic! Also, like PP said, they will probably just enjoy the new surroundings. Our daughter played with leaves in the AK for almost an hour. :rotfl:

For the fleeting moment of being able to experience the joy and wonder through a child's eyes.
