What is the best order for thngs?

Hi, I am fairly new here and Planning a week long trip to WDW . We are staying at ASMo resort. I have it reserved May 19th to May 26th. It will be me, DH and 2 DD's who are 4 & 6 yrs old.
Sunday the 20th will be our trip to MK. We have breakfast reserved at the Crystal Palace @ 9:05 am.....and Dinner reserved at Liberty Tree Tavern @ 6:05 pm. I think on this day MK has thier Extra Magic Hours in the evening.

My Question is after breakfast In what order should we do things that will benefit the kids the most in thier experience? Order of rides, shows etc... What time is the best time to take a break and come back? How Late are the EMH in the evening?

In the future we will have small weekend trips since I bought 1 AP and 3 SP's

Personally I would reconsider the breakfast at Crystal Palace so that you could go straight to Fantasyland before it gets so crowded. You could always eat at Crystal Palace for a late breakfast/brunch or reserve it for lunch or dinner - I've heard the buffet there is good at all meals. We usually eat breakfast in the room and try to get to the park a few minutes before it opens. Once we're in the park, we take a minute for a family photo in front of the castle and then head straight for Dumbo because later in the day the line will be much longer and out in the sun. While you're waiting for Dumbo you might want to send someone in your party to get fastpasses for Pooh or Peter Pan as those lines always seem to build pretty quickly (at least when we were there - others may say differently). If memory serves, Toontown opens a little later than the rest of the park - hopefully someone who has been more recently can tell you for sure. I would do as much as I could in Fantasyland before I moved on to Toontown but, again, hopefully someone who has been more recently could give some advice on this. (As you can see in my sig. it has been almost 4 years since our last trip but the strategy I've given you has always worked well for us.) Hope this helps and that you have a great trip.

Thanks for the suggestions, not sure I will change the breakfast, but at least I know what things I may do first. After a nap we can always go back during the extra magic hours in the evening for any rides we did not get to during the morning before we break for a nap. I think...This is allnew to me.

Taking a nap break and going back later for the extra evening hours will probably work well, too. If not, it looks as if you'll be there for a whole week so you could try my suggestion on another day. By the way, we are going May 26 - June 2. Looks like you and I will just miss each other. You are staying at one of our favorite resorts, too. But now that there are 4 of us (and only one is a little person) my DH prefers that we go with at least a moderate resort for the room size. If you have any more questions just ask away - the DIS is a great place to get information. It just may take awhile to absorb all of it.

I would also suggest visiting Fantasyland first and then head over to Mickeys Toon Town. Not sure if you have heard of the Wonderland Tea Party but my daughter thought it was one of her favorite things about her last trip.

There is a maximum of 25 children to ensure that each child gets a lot of personal attention from the entertainment (Mad Hatter & Alice usually, but this is subject to change) and the recreation Cast Members. Parents are welcome to stay and observe the fun, but may prefer to use the time to book a spa treatment, shop (in the elegant Grand Floridian shops), take a walking tour of the beautiful grounds, have a quick lunch at the Grand Floridian Café, rent watercraft at the marina or just sit and enjoy the ambience of the magnificent lobby. Call (407)WDW-DINE to book this or check with Guest Services at the resort. This can be booked 120 days in advance.

We had a similar scehdule in November with DD2 and DS4. We got to the park for opening, went straight to FL, then to Toontown at 10am for it's opening then had a 11:50 CP lunch. It worked out very well. A nap will do the kids good if you plan to come back for EMH. I wouldn't push it, though. Maybe just stay an hour or two during EMH or long enough to see the parade. Unless you have a slow day the following, if you stay out very late, this may hurt you in the end.

The evening extra magic hours at MK are for 3 hours after the MK closes. So if it closes at 9pm the day you are there, the EMH will end at 12am. We love them and try not to miss it. You can really get alot done especially if you skip the parade and or fireworks and stick to the rides. I would do the CP breakfast, then head over to Fantasyland and do whatever rides have a short wait time. Then head over to Toontown and see Mickey and Minnies houses, see some characters in the Judges tent. Then head back to the resort for a nap/swim, just some down time. Refresh and then head to MK for your 6:05 LTT dinner. I would then stay for EMH for as long as you all can take. Maybe plan to sleep in the next morning?

Desnick, Your plan sounds really good to me. Everyones does. If EMH are til 12mid. I am not sure the kids will make that, but even an hour or so will help. I know they will definitly need a nap. I do not want the crankiness.

Good thing we got an AP and 3 season Passes, so at least we can go back for weekend trips too, since we live so close. I am already thinking Labor Day weekend for my daughters birthday which is on Labor Day this year. Anyone ever been on Labor Day Weekend? They say irt is a least crowded time to go.

Going straight to Fantasyland at park opening is a good strategy. We actually have gone first to Indy Speedway because those lines get really long later, too. Then we go right to Dumbo and the rest of Fantasyland. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info, but I will have to wait on this info. I am almost afraid to say, I hope I can still go in may. Most who live in Florida know, it is getting increasingly difficult to own a house in Florida. Today I just recieved my new mortgage statment with an increase of $512 a month to my payment. Thanks to unrealistic taxes and insurance costs. I am so depressed, money I haved saved for months to go on my trip I will have to use to pay my escrow shortage, just to lower that increase by $300. I will still have a $1250 dollar pymt per month.

BUT I am determined....I will be Disney Bound in May!!!!

Go to the public library and check out the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. It's a huge book with LOTS of great tips. I think there's also a separate version for trips "with kids" which you can read. They have specific touring plans which you can either follow or not, but you'll at least get the gist of why they recommend certain things, such as why people are saying here to visit Fantasyland first.

Keep in mind that it's really hard to see all of MK in one day, even with EMH and NO nap, let alone with a nap, so prioritizing is important. If you really want the CP breakfast, it will mean less rides/shows that day. And that's fine if it's what you want! If it were me, I'd save the money on the meal and see more attractions. But there are dozens of ways to spend a fun day at MK, and only you know what's best for you.

We plan to go back to MK at the end of the week also for another half a day. Also, we have AP's and SP's, so we can go back for weekend or day trips, as it is only 90minutes away from our house. Time does not worry me as much as the kids getting bored in Lines. I will check the lIbrary tho, good idea.

I worked at our public library until a few months ago and this was one of my duties. It is a free service that most public libraries offer but may not advertise. They may not be able to borrow the most recent edition but most of the information does not change that much from year to year. HTH

It also never hurts to ask your library to consider BUYING something you want if they don't have it or can't "interlibrary loan" it---although they should have the Unofficial Guide. My local library started carrying the Passporter books after I asked for them. The worst they can do is say no.

Reconsider breakfast at 9:05. By the time you are done eating, the lines in Fantasyland will be looonng.

What about changing your reservation to a time that is before park opening. I noticed during our trip that there is a separate line for that and they were allowing people into the park before the official opening.

I did It!!!! I changed my 9:05 reservation at the CP to 8:25am. That was the earliest I could get. Will that help get us to Fantasyland before the lines are too long. I hope so .
