What is the Best Hotel/Resort you've ever stayed at & Why?

The Hermitage Hotel in Nashville.

I was just coming on here to post about the Hermitage. We drove down to Disney last month and spent one night in Nashville on our way down. I booked the Hermitage because of it's rave reviews on Trip Advisor, and even though I already had high expectations, it was the most perfect stay I've ever had at any hotel. We can't wait to go back and spend more time there!

The Club Med at Columbus Island
- Only resort on the island
- Beautiful secluded beach
- Wonderful food
- Great entertainment
- Snorkling and Scuba
- Room was right on the beach, the sound of waves was amazing
- you could walk the beach for about 5 miles if you wanted to...after about a mile, there was nothing there but you and your mate.

The Hotel Del is amazing. We weren't lucky enough to stay there but that didn't keep me from spending time at this lovely place!

Personally, I love Loew's Royal Pacific. The Loew's chain is outstanding.

I love hotel talk!!
My top 5:

Fairmont Kea lani on Maui (for our honeymoon)
Fairmont Copley in Boston ( we go there for Christmas time..it is GORGEOUS..awesome service on the Gold level..excellent bar in the hotel as well)

A tie with the Bellagio in Las vegas and the Mandarin Oriental in Washington DC...

Have to agree with you there. That was the nicest "city" hotel we have stayed at. The bathrooms were amazing. And waking up to a view of the Jefferson Memorial each morning was great. I also loved that picture of the woman swinging over D.C. that they have in the lobby.

With out a doubt THE absolutely best resort on the Western Hemisphere is the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas Virgin Island.

Outstanding service
drop dead gorgeous location
Unbelievable food.

I would literally sell my soul to be able to afford to go there every year.

We are going to St Thomas the end of this month  (Surprise for fiance's 51st bday).
We have reservations for the Marriott Frenchmens Reef, but everyday I keep hoping for a Ritz code or deal, I always seem to get the Ritz email deals when we are not going anywhere but now that I want one I have not gotten any! Ritz is by far my all time favorite chain, followed by the Four Seasons.

My all time favorite resort is the One and Only Palmilla in Cabo, absolutely wonderful...and it was a trip paid for by my company - even better!

Wonderful hotel, fabulous food and the service was amazing - each room has their own private butler. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Because of my Dh's work, we've stayed at some phenomenal places thru the years, including some of the places mentioned here.
This hotel is nothing like anything else I've ever seen.

It caters to the Stars-- Joe Jonas just honeymooned there. When we were there, Jason Priestly was honeymooning there and Matthew Mcconneghy was leaving as we were arriving. John Travolta had his 50th Birthday party here. We were only lucky enough to stay b/c of my DH's work- we'd never be able to pay the $1000 a night on our own.

You have your own personal butler 24 hours a day --- as soon as you come to the resort, they unpack for you and then put together a kit with threads of the colors of your wardrobe in case they might need to fix a button or something for you. It's interesting to watch them trying to match the colors.
All of your clothes are pressed for you, you just tell them what you are going to be wearing that day.

When you are ready to go to the pool or beach, they walk behind you, carrying towels and your things for you- then set you up. Then they stand a distance a ways from you and you know they are there but it's not obtrusive at all. They are just sort of waiting on you to say that you need something or are hot-- they come and spray oxygen water mist all around you to cool you.

They do nothing but wait on you hand and foot.

Drinks, food, ipod loaded with songs of your choice, new towels on your chair every time you get in the pool.
There are ladies in the bathrooms there that do nothing but go in behind you and fold the tissue into a point after you leave a stall.

What really blew me away was when a friend and I took a cab back to the hotel from shopping. When we pulled up to the gatehouse, before we had a chance to say anything, the guard looked in and said "Welcome back Mrs______ and Mrs ________". They knew us, just by seeing us.

If anyone ever gets the chance to go--- well, let me just say I am very very envious.:)

Beach Club, because it's at my favorite place in the world and is located within walking distance of my favorite park. :goodvibes

Caesar's Palace was nice but I am so not into Vegas; I was only there for a concert. But the accomodations were outstanding.

Young Island Resort off the coast of St. Vincent. The island is the resort. Luxery and service all the way. There are about 3 staff members for every guest. It was one of the best vacations we've had.

Mine would be the 2 nights we stayed in the Newport Suite at the Beach Club Concierge.
It takes up the whole top floor with 3 balconies, 3 1/2 baths. Everywhere you turned there was another room.

Have to agree with you there. That was the nicest "city" hotel we have stayed at. The bathrooms were amazing. And waking up to a view of the Jefferson Memorial each morning was great. I also loved that picture of the woman swinging over D.C. that they have in the lobby.

YES! I love that painting! The restaurant was very good there as well...

This is so random, but the nicest ROOM I've ever had was the Peppermill Resort & Casino in Reno, Nevada. The room was CRAZY guilded!! All brocade and golden. The bathroom was huge and had a lighted make-up settee area.

well I am an easy gal to please... I just LOVE the EMBASSY SUITES hotel chain!!! My fav is the airport one in Minneapolis!!! They serve the BIGGEST breakfast buffet I have EVER seen, period. and you can take it to your room and eat at your own table. They have free drinks and snacks in the evening. They also have the biggest suites I have ever seen. I have been to quite a few hotels in my lifetime and think this chain takes the CAKE!!!! And for cheap too!

I would say it is a toss up between the Del Coronado and the Banff Springs. I LOVED both places. I would go back to either in a heartbeat.

Hands down, The Four Seasons in Maui.

A beautiful property with great rooms. More importantly, the service was incredible. After our initial arrival, the valet knew our names and welcomed us "home" every time we returned. The front desk staff knew our names and greeted us as we passed in the morning. Extrodinary for a hotel of this size.

Amazing service at the pool also. Basically we were waited on hand and foot.

Can't wait for the Four Seasons at Disney to open.

Ok, now I have to add a 3rd if we are talking service-JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix. The hotel was very nice, the grounds and golf courses were in great shape but the staff was AMAZING!! EVERYONE said hi, are you having a good time as you walked by, if you looked lost someone ALWAYS stopped to help, they bent over backwards to help with everything. :thumbsup2

The only more-than-one-star hotel I've ever stayed in is the Providence Biltmore. It is lovely, and the beds were very comfy. It was my first experience with a big, flat screen tv. :) My school sent a few of us to the New England League of Middle Schools conference and we stayed there. It was the least expensive of the options near the convention center.

The condo where we stay in Kissimmee is very nice. It's not "luxurious," but it's comfortable, spacious, and the beds are soooo comfy.

This past summer was our first "hotel" vacation and we stayed at Super 8s. Not Biltmore nice, but clean and comfy. Someday I'd love to stay at the Atlantis...but I'm probably too cheap...I mean, frugal...to actually stay there.
