I am not going to spend money to rent a double stroller at Disney now that the price has gone up so much. I don't have a stroller to take though and figure that I can buy a new one cheaper than renting.

I was just wondering what others think is the best double stroller.

I just recently asked this question on this thread, but with the search function not working :sad1: I don't know where my thread is. Anyway, most people suggested the McLaren or the Peg Perego. I went with the Peg Perego because someone said that the Mclaren had a small underneath basket, although others have said that the Peg Perego's underneath basket tends to drag on the ground when too full :sad2: . We wanted the larger underneath basket so we went with the Peg anyway. We got the Peg Perego Aria twin stroller, it has 2 independent reclining seats, 2 child trays, an adult cup holder and the large underneath basket. It sells for $169 on www.albeebaby.com (actually $184.23 with tax, shipping is free). That is a better price than anything I saw on ebay. Oh, and it's only like 14 or maybe 16 pounds, which is great. The maximum weight per child is 45 lbs, I think.

Good luck, you'll find many different opinions here.

We just bought the Joovy Caboose Ultralight and we love it. It is so lightweight and my kids love riding in it. I have a 6, 5 & 2 year old and if needed I can get them all in it and it is still easy to steer and push. We tried the Sit 'n Stand and the Joovy Caboose and they did not maneuver nearly as easly as the ultralight.

Does that stroller fold onto itself one way and then do a double fold like the twin savvy from Combi?

Jennifer

I do love my combi twin savvy for the main reason that it folds up to about the size of a single stroller. I have had it almost 5 years now-my girls don't want to quite give it up! and it is still hanging in there. We have taken it with us on four trips to disney and it has worked very well although now that they are getting bigger it is getting harder to turn and navigate (although that may be true with any stroller that style when pushing 70 pounds total!) ;) I do have to say that I like being able to just fold it up when getting on the buses and monorail, plus at home it fits nicely in the back of my car.

I have found the Combi to be hard to push the bigger the child is. It doen't handle weight well. Are you looking for an umbrella? If that's the case I'd go with a Mac. If your looking for something to carry stuff with a decent basket the Peg P is probably a good choice as someone mentioned here. I have a BabyTrend sit and stand which I purchased at www.walmart.com that I like very much. Compare prices at Walmart & www.albeebaby.com before you buy anything in the store. The online prices are alot of times much better with free shipping.

Thanks so much for all the info. I has really helped me. I thought I was done stroller shopping, so it is nice to know what others have and like.

I am looking for an umbrella double. My twins weigh less than 30 lbs. each. I also was looking for something that had the storage basket.

Is the Peg double considered an umbrella stroller?

I have a cheap Jeep brand double side-by side stroller that I would never take to Disney because it doesn't have a basket for storage and it just manuevers awful. It is not all that comfortable either for long periods of time. The canopies aren't that great either.

Thanks again for the help!!!

I have a Chicco Citta Twin that I really like. The storage baskets won't store a full size diaper bag, but they are pretty roomy. It has an umbrella style fold. I went to Disney by myself last year with my two DS, then 16 months and almost 3, and I was able to get us all on the bus and the stroller folded easily and was pretty light. It has a carry handle so you can carry it with one hand if you have to. I think I got mine for about $110 or so at Target online. They are now 33 and 38 lbs. and it maneuvers great. I really like it. I bought a single Ray Shade to supplement the canopies and it works great as well. The stroller is so narrow that you do not need the double sized one, the single one works. I also like the 5 pt harnesses. Both seats recline as well.

No, the Peg perego does not fold up like the Combi. Just one fold, from top to bottom, I think (just ordered it on line last night so I haven't really seen the real deal). That is a drawback, especially at Disney. However, we will be staying offsite, no buses for us. I think we'll be OK on the monorail, and may only have to deal with folding it up in the park if we decide to do the RR in MK.

We will not be on buses either - with 3 kids and 2 in a stroller that is too much for me. We usually walk to the car upon exit also. I just was wondering about the fold for packing in the car. That is a great deal at albeebaby for that stroller.
Let us know how you like it.

We've had great luck with this stroller. It is very light compared to others we tried, and has survived many WDW adventures. My only complaint is that it isn't big enough to hold me at the end of a long day at the parks. ;)
