What is the best deal offered for a value?

Just returned from a great trip - stayed at POR and had free dining - thought overall it was a very good value but we were hardly ever in our room - just to sleep really.

Next time I think we will book a value resort and try to save some $$ (or have more to spend on a special event).

What is the best deal that you can typically get on a value? Is it the free dining or could I do better with a discount and paying OOP for food (not dining plan). We are not huge eaters - actually didn't even use all of our snacks or CS meals while we were there. Family of 2 adults and 2 children (will be age 4 for next trip).

TIA for your help!

Recently the values were offered for $59/nt. plus tax with a discount code. Not sure if it was a public code or a PIN code. With FD they are $93/night with tax. If you think your meals per day will be less than $34 total, then the room discount is a better deal. If you anticipate spending more than $34/day on food, then free dining is a better deal. Since we're a family of 6 (and usually bring DH's nieces with us) our best deal is 2 value rooms and free dining. We stayed at POR in 2006 when there were only 5 of us, but we really liked two rooms at POP better this year.

Just saw a banner for Disney that includes Values @ $49, Mods @ $61 and Some Deluxe for $94.00 a night. I couldnt' copy the text, but try the link below, to get the dates. You must book by 9/24 and the select dates go through December. This deal looks great to me, too bad we already have airfare for Jan. Maybe this can work for you.

Those prices are per person per day - not nightly room rate. I'm not saying it's a bad deal. Just pointing out that you are not getting a Deluxe for $94 per night.

Singing, I had already booked and paid for my vacation at rack rate when that code came out. We used the savings from applying that code to upgrade to Disney's Deluxe Dining Plan... now I plan to be Disney Fat.

Best rates recently for values have been as low as $49 a night with a MYW base 1 day minimum required. The recent GA offer was for $59 per night.

Otherwise, with PIN codes on low seasons there's been Free dining, however rooms would be at rack rate ($99), also requiring a min. 1 day MWY base.

Where is info about the GA code? please....

On our last trip we got our room for $45 a night Thanksgiving week (we added tickets and dining). I couldn't believe it, but back then the rate was based on when you arrived and we went starting the weekend before the Holiday (just by luck!) You can get a great deal if your dates are flexible. (Wish ours were...)
