What is the best Counter Service Rest and Why?

Our overall favorite CS is Pepper Market. Our favorites at the parks are Pecos Bills at MK, the CS in China at EPCOT and the CS in Morocco at EPCOT. YUMMYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

We love the Tusker house for CS. Wow! what a great place for good food that is something other than burgers, chicken and fries. This is a must for us when we are at the AK!! and would have to be my favorite for GOOD food at a CS place!

All the choices listed so far are great.

My personal favorite, although it is not spectacular food, is Casey's Corner in the MK.

I think it just brings back nice childhood memories with my family. I always stop there during a visit.

Anyone else on this ship with me? :yay:

I don't have any suggestions, it is has been 15 years since I have been and don't remember where we ate but I wanted to say thanks for those who have said Tusker House. I had not really looked into this counter service and I think it will fit perfectly into one of our picky eaters (adult not child) menu. Thanks soo much!

I am surprised no one has mentioned the ABC Commissary at MGM! They have typical but tasty breakfast fare and great lunch/dinner options including cubans with black bean salad, tabbouleh wrap, and vegeatable noodle stir fry...and still have things like cheeseburgers, too. We love that and The Backlot Express has a good grilled vegetable sandwich, too!

At MK, Columbia Harbor House has a wonderful tuna salad sandwich with very good bread!

At EPCOT, The Land is good but my favorite is Tangerine's, too! Love the lamb platter and the lamg wrap!

If I had to pick just one counter service, I'd pick the Tangierine in Epcot. The food is good and it's a nice offering over the usual burger and hot dog choices at many other locations. The CMs are very friendly there and the seating area is pretty nice.

They do have kid-friendly (read: American food) kids meals, so if your kids are not up to couscous, they will still be happy.

I have to second that!

Ukwildcat I am there with you. Casey's is one of our all time favorites. In fact it is our familys official meeting spot, has been forever. so if one of us gets lost, we just go to Casey's.

I also have to say that MK Columbia Harbor house is another family staple. The fish and chips are good, but the ambiance is wonderful. Order your food and then walk upstairs where you can always find a nice quiet table, usually by a window. We always use that time to regroup for the afternoon and it becomes a wonderful family dinner full of lively conversation and good ole people watchin out the window.

I think the Flame Tree in DAK is the best. It has great food and a relaxing place to eat even when its crowded. I also like the Cantina in Mexico at Epcot.

Cosmic Ray's in MK. I enjoyed my roast chicken and mashed potatoes, and the kids loved the singing robots. Don't remember what dh had, but he wanted to eat there again a second time, so he must have liked whatever it was.

Tusker House at AK was really good. We had salmon with rice and fresh green beans. Delicious.

I don't think we ate any CS at D/MGM.

Epcot has so many good ones, it's hard to choose. I think my favorite was the Boulangerie Patisserie in France. DH had a sandwich and I had quiche, and the pastries were yummy. We sat outside and people watched while eating and listening to the French music. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Oh, but the CS (can't remember the name offhand) in Mexico was great too! We shared a combo platter that was yummy, and paid oop for the fruity frozen drink things that were delicious. Sat under umbrellas on the patio by the lagoon, and a mariachi band was playing. That was very enjoyable too.
