What is the best AP rate I could expect at POR

I am going to WDW Oct. 19-26, we are staying 7 nights in 2 rooms, I have a AAA rate of 140/night/room. I am wondering if I were get the AP what would my rate be. Would it be worth it to get the AP even though I would not use it again for the year. Do you have to book the AP with your number or do you just have to have it by the time you get there?

I think during regular season with AP Best Rate discount you are looking at about $115 a night at a moderate plus tax. I am booked during Value, so I am not positive about that amount, but it's close. AP Best Rate is not available to you this year because you have to book 120 days out, but if a code comes out (hoping this weekend), you could apply that and buy your AP when you get there and present it at check-in. You can also order them and recieve vouchers that can be exchanged for AP's once in WDW. But, you have to present it at check-in. (In the past, people have gotten away without presenting AP at check-in, but I think they are cracking down since Best Rate came out.)

We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter last Thanksgiving and got the AP rate of $79.00 per night.

Before it was 120 days I looked at the best rate plan for the POFQ and it wouldn't give me that hotel, it gave me 3 other options but never POFQ. That is frustrating. I am having my wedding down in WDW this year and am having guests stay at the POFQ and am hoping for an ap discount to come out since I was not able to get one thru the best rate program.

I don't know what days in December you needed, but we're doing a split stay and will be at POFQ Dec 9th-14th and at CSR Dec 14th-18th. I booked them 07/27/05 throught the Best Rate Plan without any trouble.

I am happy you were able to get a good rate. Yeah, I was looking for Dec. 5th-10th. Or some dates right around that. Oh well. Maybe next year I will have better luck.
