What is the appeal of BCV?

I own at both resorts. The BWV is by far, my favorite. :cloud9:

BWV: I love the "hustle and bustle" of the BoardWalk. At the BCV, there isn't much going on at all.

I feel like I'm home when I'm at the BW. :grouphug: (I feel like I'm visiting when I stay at the BCV.)

At the BWV, I'm part of this great resort. At the BCV, I feel like I'm staying "out back"--like I'm being punished!

At the BWV, I love the pool bar! At the BCV, there is no real pool bar where one can sit and enjoy a cocktail. (I can get a drink and carry it off to enjoy elsewhere, but I do enjoy a real sitdown bar.)

And I even love that clown pool!! :clown:

The standard view point requirements are just a great bargain at the BWV.

BCV: I enjoy the nautical atmosphere. We usually stay there prior to DCL to get in the mood. :boat:

The rooms are gorgeous! The soft colors and decor are the main reason I added on there.

The BWV is where I spend most of my time. It is my true home-away-from-home. I treasure those points! (Note: when I stay at a non-home resort, I use the BCV points. The BWV points are way too precious!) :lovestruc

I am not a BCV or BWV owner, but if you like beachy, victorian theming and the best Disney resort pool complex, all wrapped around a lake and sprinkle disney all over it.......then it might just be for you!

Personally, all the DVC resorts are great. At Christmas time, I really fall in Love with Wilderness Lodge! I have never been to Vero Beach, but I really, really want to go there and do the turtle walk.

I actually want to own them all. I have two problems though....#1 need alot more money....and #2, I can only take four or five vacations a year.

Rule #1 ..... Buy where you want to stay!

Just curious, I know OKW has two beds in the studio. So, do they have some 2-bedrooms with two beds?

Also, the dedicated two bedroom at SSR has two beds in the second bedroom. The lock-off two bedroom has one bed in the second bedroom

More correctly, BWV is the ONLY resort not to offer two queens in a second bedroom. BWV only has lockoffs. The "standard" is that a dedicated 2BR will have two beds. At OKW all two bedrooms have two beds, even lockoffs. And at BCV some dedicateds have the pullout - IIRC, the rooms are a little too small for two beds and they needed the pullouts to meet code - other dedicateds have two beds.

Stormalong Bay and its location are the biggies I think.

I like the ability to walk to Epcot. Of course, you have that with BWV as well, it's a smidge farther of a walk though.

I love the whole SAB area.

I love Beaches and Cream.

I love having the accessibility of the Boardwalk.

It is where we went on our honeymoon, so it has some sentimental draw.

I know what you mean. The place is kind of like a dungeon.

Antoher thing I like about the BCV is the close parking to the Villas. At BWV you have to hike to get to your car. Yes, I know you can valet but sometimes it just seems like such a hassle to have to wait for your car. At BCV you just walk out directly to your car. I own at both BWV and BCV. Bought both site unsean and am very happy with each purchase (actually added on at each place too).

Wow, I stand corrected. I should've thought about OKW having two beds...I've actually stayed in one like that...duh!!

But, I didn't know SSR had two beds in the dedicated. So, you said BWV is the ONLY only one not to have two beds in the second bedroom....does that mean VWL has two beds in the dedicated as well? And, are these "guaranteed bookings" at SSR and VWL? Just curious.

At SSR yes the dedicated two bedrooms can be booked, if available. We have one reserved for Labor Day weekend. When we went during the week of July 4th, we were only able to get the lock-off unit.

i own at bwv and ssr, in my opinion bcv is the best place to stay. i like going to all the dvc resorts but bcv in my opinion is the best because.
1. sab
2. great location at bwv some of the rooms can get a lot of noise from the boardwalk.
3. good parking, the parking is a lot better than at bwv.

Yes to VWL-have one booked for August.

We haven't even stayed there yet, only at BWV, which we really, really liked a lot - I just love the decor and the atmosphere there! But we reasoned that, of all the many charms and activities of the BW/BC/YC area, the only one we wouldn't be able to partake of if we bought BWV is SAB. We figured we can still enjoy the boardwalk at night, and the bakery in the morning if we stay at BCV. So yes, SAB was the determining factor for us, at least for now, since our kids are the perfect ages to get the most out of it. Who knows how dh and I will view it once they're grown, but we'll worry about that then.

I didn't buy there but I guess the location of BCV is appealing too many people.

It is a pretty place, but a little too busy for me.

YMMV.

We bought at the BWV site unseen and fell in love with it too on our 1st trip in Feb 06. However, alot of people seemed to love the BCV so I decided to stay there one night, (DH wasn't too happy about the move). Since addonitis HIT really early I wanted to buy into the BCV really bad because it is a beautiful resort and the thought of SAB was a big draw for me and my family. However, I am so glad I decided to stay there before I bought because it was the exact opposite of the BWV. The Beach Club was very beautiful, SAB is really awesome- however, it didn't have the atmosphere of the Boardwalk.

I suggest you stay there 1st before you decide. If you like the "hustle and bustle" of the BWV, note that the BCV are very relaxing! Which isn't a bad thing, but when I go to Disney, I guess I want to be entertained both day and night.

There are so many pro's & a few cons at both resorts, but in the end you should pick the one that feels like "HOME".

Go luck and have fun trying to decide!

What is the appeal of BCV?

That they attached it to the Yacht and Beach Club resort. :thumbsup2

OKW, SSR and VWL: all of their dedicated 2 bedrooms have the 2 queens.

At BCV there are only 25 that have the 2 queens. More that don't.

You can book all of them.

We find that we love the DVC resort we are in, whichever one it is! When we are unable to get any one in the non-owner booking time, (consistently, not just one time), we would add that one on. Given your choice, I think that we would be adding on the BCV, going on the waitlist that is.

rwc :goodvibes

How do you get from BC to BW? Can you just walk? Do you take a boat? I have only visited the boardwalk (ESPN restaurant), not stayed there.
