I have to save pennies for our next trip, and I really want to ASAP. We have started saving for our next trip, but who knows how long that will be given that we have to save so little each pay period to even go:/. What time of year is the cheapest to go, but still warm/hot? what are your saving tips for your trips? Thanks!!

We went in Sept 2 years ago and it was plenty warm and prices were great. People avoid the time frame since its hurrican season so its a small gamble of sorts. =)

Yea I'd say sept, its still plenty hot, but its storm season and its also the start of school, lots of people aren't willing to pull the kids out the first week or the first couple weeks, ... if anything thats when I WOULD pull them out :)

Sept or maybe May, may isn't the cheapest, and later may its busier, but its warm and its the second cheapest time of year I believe ...

The past couple years there have been great discounts in Sept as well, but we are all waiting to see what happens with Free Dining this year ...

Went in Sept. last year, and it was pretty "warm", like 95 degrees with 100% humidity. The every day showers were nice to get caught in!

I love end of Sept! Free dining, value season, low crowds and you can catch the beginning of Food and Wine festival.

It is still pretty HOT, but usually better than early Sept.

You will get some rain, but usually it doesn't last too long.

We have been in Sept 3 times and no hurricanes, knock on wood.

Hoping to go this Sept too if they would ever announce free dining!

September! Still PLENTY warm enough to swim and prices and crowds are low.

I guess my answer is redundant but September is your month to go. Just a heads up though that it won't be warm...it will be HOT!!! :beach:

We go every year in September, we love the weather and the prices are great. We've been lucky enough to get free dining in September the past few years so its been much more affordable. :thumbsup2

We find Feb to be the least expensive for us. Temps have been mid 70s-low 80s on our trips. As for saving money we started with always bring lunch to work. Then we called trash, cable, Internet providers and asked for specials or deals available. Worked out great as we ended up saving about $200 a month just cutting back on a few things.

The cheapest time to go will be when you can combine the lowest regular off-season rate with a nice discount. This winter we went at the end of January (the lowest regular rates) with the Stay/Play/Dine package. Our 5 days/4 nights at POR for 3 adults cost $1700 for room, tickets and food - plus $600 for airfare total for 3.

A Value resort will save money, and we have done that a few times. But IMHO they don't look or feel much like a "resort", but more like a Motel with giant decorations. But kids probably like them!

You can also reduce cost by staying off-site. Some are very nice, like Bahama Bay. An off-site condo will cost less than a Value, and you will have a kitchen which can save a lot on food. But you will need to rent a car, which may offset some or all of the savings.

Keep watching for cheap airline tickets, or use frequent flier miles/credit card points to get then for free.

Hot is not so fun at Disney. You are outside all day and walking a lot. Florida is very humid in the summer. You might wilt.

Another thought: Choose a dates then book your package with a $200 deposit. You will then be able to make payments up until 45 days out from arrival. I love having everything paid before I vacation. We also buy Disney Gift Cards at our local Dillons/Kroger, which gives us discounts on gas. And a PLUS is that 2 or 3 times a year Dillons gives 4x credit. ($100 GC = .40 off per gallon).

If you have a Travel Agent that knows Disney well, just have them book for you. They should watch for discounts, do your planning, and make those payments for you - saving you the time, hassle & cost of calling them in!

We've been to WDW in late October a few times and it's always been warm/hot. But remember, I'm from Wisconsin. Our definition of hot may differ from others. Daytime temps between 80 and 90 are hot to me. There's also the Food & Wine festival going on then. We've also had free dining the last two Octobers we've gone.

As an AP holder that goes several times a year, I've been down there many times in late August, Sept, Oct. Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, and May (I always avoid spring break and summer crowds). My Sept and early Dec trips usually wind up being my cheapest trips, just because it's Value season and WDW usually has good discounts out for those times.

I agree that September would probably be the best time to go. January and early to mid February are low priced seasons, but the weather is too unpredictable and can be cold, hot, or something in between. We've been twice at the very end of September/beginning of October during free dining and the weather was great (hot for swimming but not too hot for the parks) and crowds were low.

Just went this past September and it sure was HOT!!!! It felt like August! And I was surprised how crowded it was even though there was free dining, I couldn't believe how many people take their kids out of school so early in the year.

We just went in February . ( 2/9-2/15) It was considered value season and it was 82 all week . We were lucky and got a free dining pin, so this was our cheapest trip in 7 years and it was the best so far! We usually go the last week of May , but never again ! Loved February !

We've been in Mid- September before and it was still quite warm (mid-upper 80s during the day). We found the crowds to be low though because a lot of kids just went back to school. There is usually a fall promo in September as well (room discount or free dining). Plus, Halloween decorations are up at MK at that time of year.

We go every Sept & it can be hot but we never had a lot of rain the summer month we have been is much worse with the rain.

We love Sept b/c we love being in the sun at the pool and the crowds are lowland the rates ate normally good..
