I've read so many great things about the brunch itself. But I'm not reading anything specific, just that it is awesome. We'll be on the 4 day Wonder next April, should we try it? This is our very first cruise, I thought it might be a nice "get away" from the kids for awhile while they're in the club. But tell me why you love it so much? thanks! ps. I liked the idea of a brunch as opposed to dinner, as I didn't like the idea of not including the kids at dinner time.

The food...the presentation... the deserts...the service...It's a buffet and custom ordering combined. The atmosphere, service and presentation are fantastic. Less dressy, I wore a capri set and DH wore slacks and a shirt. Your server takes you on a "tour" of the buffet tables and explains what everything is, then you get a plate and start pigging out. Then you get to order the specialty items that they cook for you like pizza. It's been a couple of months but I remember variety cheeses, variety of fruits, variety of bread/rolls, variety of breakfast pastries, variety of meats and fantastic deserts.

HMMMMMMMM...did I say the food, service and presentation? :cheer2:

It is also great because it is daylight, the view from Palo is very beautiful. I have heard people say they have seen whales at brunch.

The stollen bread with fresh berries and cream is worth the cost of the cruise. For a main course I ordered the tilapia with rissoto - amazing!

i just returned from the 6/26 eastern. the other adult female in our group has a picky eater for a dh so we went to brunch sans husbands. the setting is elegant although you are not required to dress up as for dinner. the service is very good and the pacing is much slower than regular dining (allowing you to eat more?) you don't have to miss a dinner with your family.

the food is superb. the salad/first course selections are unusual, varied and delicious. in addition to the buffet items you can order fresh pizza and made to order entrees including fish, chicken, pasta and eggs benedict w/ variations. the food is a notch above the regular dining rooms. there is also a cheese table and a bread and danish table with stollen fresh whipped cream and fruit.

the dessert table is dissapointing but after champagne and all that food who cares.

we skipped palo dinner because it was so late so brunch was a good way to enjoy palo's. it is also a nice activity for a sea day.

Is that something new..offering the brunch on 4 night cruises? We've done it twice on 7 night sailings and it was by far the best food on the cruise.

On the 4 night cruise, when can you make the ressies? By phone in advance of cruise or once on board? Where to go/call for ressies? Whether for brunch or dinner? What are the eating times? Is your ressie at anytime you want within that time frame or do you arrive at the beginning?

Palo ressies have to be done once on board (unless you get the REAS package or a Cat 1, 2 or 3 room) and there are specific times right after boarding where you would go and TRY to get a reservation! The 3 and 4 day ones I would imagine would be VERY hard to get a ressie for since there are so few days to do a brunch at. We were on the 7 day Eastern and only got to experience brunch because some really nice people on our dis meet invited us! We put our name on the Palo dinner waiting list and never got called for anytime on the whole cruise! I would imagine the sign up is the same for the 4 day...you go to Rockin Bar D (forgive me if the name is diff on the Wonder than the Magic) from 12:30-3:30 to sign up. My understanding was you could sign up for one of each but that may be wrong since we didn't sign up for brunch ourselves. They give you a specific time to be there and you go. Our brunch reservation was 11:30 I believe and they seated us right then! It was wonderful and a great experience and beautiful but I certainly wouldn't feel badly if you didn't get to go on the 4 day.....if you can great but I wouldn't stress about it too much!

We did both the dinner and brunch and have decided that we will do the brunch only on our next cruise. The food was delicious; the presentation, variety, and selection was wonderful; you could order "half orders" so you could try more selections. OUr server prepared a special dessert for us; the view out the windows was great. You could get as dressed up as you wanted--we never felt rushed. It was a great way to spend part of a sea day!

I thought we paid $15 per person in October? I could be wrong but I thought the brunch was more expensive than the dinner because of the champagne.

Thank you everyone!! This is exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely plan to get a brunch reservation as soon as we board. YUM.

the food was excellent, the service, superb, reaxing to the max, just don't wear a lycra bathing suit afterward, my soache was so full it hurt!! have a great time

but then again, I'm not much of a "brunch" person. I just don't like eating a HUGE meal in the middle of the day. I would prefer to eat dinner in Palo. While I have to say the brunch was good, our server, Jean, was fantastic, and the presentation was wonderful, I wouldn't book the brunch again. Of course, dh probably would want to go again but by then our oldest will be 18 and he could go with dh. I know he'd love the crab legs and shrimp!!!

Is a brunch reservation easier to get then a dinner reservation? We are going on the 7 day eastern and want to experience Palo but hate to miss a dinner in the dining room. Will we be just as happy with a Palo brunch? We love brunches and were going to try for the brunch on one of the at sea days.

What's so special about the Palo brunch?

In one word.....

SHRIMP

They have other foods but why bother filling up on anything but shrimp.
