just wondering what is scarier/worst in your opinion - the swinging gondolas on the sunwheel or Tower of Terror?

Thanks. :)

Sunwheel swinging gondolas are PURE EVIL.

ToT is a kiddie ride in comparison.

The Tower of Terror is a bit more scary in my opinion. The Feeling of the moving cars on the Sun Wheel is a bit disconcerting at first but after the frist or second time is rolls and swings you can get used to it and it is quite pleasant....unless you get motion sickness. I can go either way so I enjoy riding it but sometimes get real sick. ToT is more thrilling as far as I am concerned.

The swinging gondolas by far.
I absolutely HATE those things.
Even the ones that don't swing are awful.
It os by far the scarier ride.
Tower of Terror is nothing.

TOT has a whole story going for it and you are immersed in that story, so it is not scary just to be scary. On the other hand the Sun Wheel is just plain scary!:scared:

I would say the sun wheel.... we went on the swinging ones by mistake...didn't even read the sign i almost had a heart attack while we were on it, but ofcourse my 4 yr old loved it! So i made my mom take him back on lol.... yea i would say the sun wheel 100%........ its not so scary i think its just cause we weighed so much the cart was REALLY rolling back.... and i didn't like the feeling of almost flipping

I agree.
I LOVE Tower of Terror.
It os one of my top rides.
But the Sun Wheel-WOW! It wakes you up.lol
I am afraid of heights and water soo this wasn't a winning ride for me.
AHHHHHHHH1

I don't really understand the fear people have of the sunwheel. It is so docile, it was designed for relaxation and viewing the resort, not to scare you! Even the swinging cars are so mellow, there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

I guess if you are afraid of heights you would avoid both but you are missing out!

Wow! This thread is an eye-opener! You all probably just saved me the cost of a lunch! :scared:

My sister feels the same way. Granted she doesn't like TOT either, but... We tried the non-swinging gondolas last week, thinking she would be OK. My nephews did well, but I can "gar-un-tee" that shee will not be back on the sunwheel.

Personally, I find Maliboomer to be the scariest. And really just because of the sneeze/vomit guards!!! :rotfl:

Going on the ToT, you expect up and down drops, maybe even a little air time.

The swinging gondolas are suppose to be relaxing, but it is a little disconcerting once it starts sliding...and sliding, and then you end up in this bobbing motion with no sense of control.

I think a few handrails inside would help with feeling secure instead of having to grip onto the seats or the chicken wire covering for dear life.

Oh, and the "sickness" bags sure don't help :p

My friend is a roller coaster junkie and even travels to Cedar Point just for the thrills. She loves TOT but the swinging gondolas left her cowering and sobbing..she pales whenever she talks of them.

The swinging gondolas made me scream in terror every time they swung. The 6 yr old riding with us got a big kick out of it too. Apparently I don't have the nerves of steel I thought I did. Every time I see them my stomach is in my throat.

I believe that officially they are noise-lowering shields, so the screams don't wake up the people who live nearby.

Not that I'll ever go on that thing...I *might* do the non-swinging gondolas one day, and I adore TOT, but I won't go on anything even similar to Maliboomer, and can't wait until it is taken down (assuming they go forth with that plan) so as to prevent my hubby from taking his life into his hands and riding it once he fits (they couldn't clip him in last time, but he's lost about 20 lbs since then).

I am so glad I am not the only one terrified of the Sun Wheel.
Space Mountain, Calif Scrmn and the others' Maliboomer, etc I will do them all, but :sunny: That Thing scares the :scared1: out of me, and my cousin thought it was funny to stand up and rock it more than it already was on it's own. I was in tears by time I got off that thing. Won't EVER go near it again. Nope.

Neither. It's those dang cheerleaders that are scary. (Or so you'd think after reading the boards lately).

Sorry, couldn't resist!!! ;)

I've only done the Sunwheel, and only the regular, non-swinging baskets. It was awesome!! Loved the view. I'd be willing to try the swinging next time. I'm too scared of ToT.
