What is Ridemax?

I have heard this mentioned several times on this board. What is it? :confused3

Google it. It's basically something you can pay for that will help you plan your trip ride by ride using historical and predicted data. It tells you which days to do which parks and what average wait times will be at any given moment, etc.

Not worth it to me, even if you've never been. Wing it. Don't schedule your vacation with minute by minute plans.

This answer is correct. You buy the software on line and then you can put in which rides and shows you desire to see. You will put in when you have dining reservations and when you feel you would eat any counter service. You can even put in an afternoon break to return to your resort. Then it will kick back the best order to ride your rides and get your fastpasses.

You will be tied into the plan if you opt to do this. I am giving it a try this summer due to the crowds and wanting to reduce wait times if possible. It is about 20.00 for three months of access to the site. If you prefer to just do whatever then I would not recomend but if you are a planner and find it less stressful to know where you need to be when it might be worth the try.

I am hoping it will be worth the cost for our family trip this July but who knows. It has been fun using it just to kinda plan thing out. Oh they will not have the months plans available untill the prior month. For example Junes plans were able to be planed after April 15th and I have to wait until May 15th for July's plans. They also cannot add the shows until closer to the date. They say to wait until about 7 days before you go if you want to include the shows as the times often change the closer to the date you get.

Hope this helps!

I "heart" RideMax ! It is a simple to use computer program-- you put in your dates, the time you'd like to arrive at the park, when you plan to leave, any breaks you'd like to take (lunch, nap, etc), and which rides you'd like to ride, and it spits out a customized touring plan for you. You can even put in if you'd like to ride a certain ride more than once. Having never been to WDW, it has been a life-save for our upcoming trip. It gives me a great idea of what we can and can't squeeze into a day, and the plans I've made don't have us waiting in line for more than 15 minutes for ANY RIDE (most of the waits are under 10 minutes!). To me, it's worth being "on a schedule" if that schedule will allow me either more time for rides or more free time to just hang out (either at the resort or in a park). I will bump up the RideMax users thread so you can take a look at it. There have been several people who used it during very busy times (one even on Easter week when the parks were closing due to capacity) and it's worked great for them. Yes, it will make your trip a bit more "scheduled", but if I can keep my preschoolers out of long lines, it's TOTALLY worth it to me. --Katie

Thanks for all the replies. Ridemax seems like it would be good for a first-timer or if you go in the very busy times but I think I will just plan the parks as per UG and also use those touring plans. I just skip over what I don't want to see. I also need to avoid too much criss-crossing of the parks. Thanks again - we are off to see the World in a week!:goodvibes

Just returned after the very busy Easter week and RM did not work for me.

Theoretically, it could work....but there are just too many variables in life and one little glitch throws off the entire plan.

For instance, on our day in AK it poured rain. That took care of our plan for that day!

Next day, 2 of our teens wanted to sleep in and meet my dh, myself and other dd at MK later on. Well, my dh, dd and I used RM, but when the other 2 showed up, it all went to pot. We had to backtrack on some things and then just tossed the plan.

That night, my ds was sick and we were up till 2 am. That took care of our plan to rise at 7 to do DHS. We opted for a late start at Epcot. Had no plan for Epcot, winged it.

The next day did DHS, but the plan I printed for the day before didn't work. It told us to get FP for TSM at 10:45. Well, by 10:20, they were gone for the day. We stood in line for 90 minutes to ride TSM and that threw the rest of the plan.

So life gets in the way of these regimented plans. I tried to contact them for a refund and got a automated response back that did not address my request in any way shape or form.

I hope they come through.

Kris
