Is it more off peak season in terms of crowds etc.... We would like to see the Christmas lights and I was thinking it would be less busy than December?
I know it isn't a value season but....
November is an awesome time to go! Of course, I'm from New Jersey, so we always go on "Jersey Week" . Jersey kids are off from school for 3 to 4 days in early November (varies every year, this year they are off 11/6 -9) for a state wide teachers convention, it is usually beautiful weather and the crowds are low. I'm pretty sure is off season unless you go late enough to hit Thanksgiving. The week AFTER Thanksgiving is also an AWESOME time to go -- very low crowds and wonderful weather....
We went the weekend of Thanksgiving and half the week after the week after seemed to be the best time we have found to experience Christmas at WDW. Crowds were low the weather was nice and we got to do things like Candelight Processional that you would miss in early Nov. I would definately go that time again.

We're going the week after Thanks giving this year for our first Christmas trip. You say the weather is nice. I know that the pools are heated. Have you found it to be warm enough to swim? Thank you.
Fabulous !!
However it's crowded. I was astonished at how much so during my first just after Thanksgiving visit so I said so to a CM who replied that it was indeed now Christmas season. However it's still best in my book because of the decorations and just a smidgen more of the magic! Also I've only otherwise been in Sept/Oct. so for all I know it's slow compared to say, summer!

If you are going immediately following Thanksgiving you should have some warm days! The month of Dec is usally pretty good weather also,..though they do have some unpredictable weather,...I am from Texas and we experience the same weather patterns pretty much..you may have some cool Dec days and pretty chilly evenings, or some days that are still up in the 80 degree range--check out the weather channels' historic weather pages and just keep checking the local weather as the trip gets closer.
Over the range of the week, you should have some warm days where you can swim and get out without freezing,..just remember those resort hallways are cold no matter when you swim!

I LOVE the week after Thanksgiving. If it weren't for all the Halloween stuff in late September, we'd go every year during this week. Low crowds, mild weather - sometimes a bit chilly for outdoor swimming, even in the heated pools, if you ask me.
We went last November on our first trip ever and it was amazing. We went the week BEFORE Thanksgiving and cam home Thanksgiving week (Tuesday). The crowds were very low until the beginning of Thanksgiving week, but they were still tolerable. There was a 5-15 min wait on a lot of the rides. The weather was upper 70's to mid 80's for the entire stay. Jackets were nice to have for the evenings an restaurants and rides that are air conditioned because they wer freezing inside.
We want to go back the same week this year, if they offer the free dining plan again.
We're going from Thanksgiving Day till the Wednesday after and everything I've read and heard has been positive for the weather and crowds. The only thing I'm worried about is the swimming too.
My daughter and I are running the Wine and Dine half marathon on November 10. We are so excited that the Christmas decorations will be up. This will be our chance to attend Mickey's Merry Christmas Party as well. Hopefully it will not be too crowded in the parks.
Went 2 years ago Friday after thanksgiving and we swam, it was fine as long as you were in the pool but after we got it it was cold . The room seemed so far away. lol
