Depending upon when you are visiting, you may hit part of the next wave of new attractions. Each of the four theme parks has legitimate "E" Ticket attractions under constructions.
At MK, Alien Encounter has closed permanently and will re-open in Fall '04 as Stitch Encounter. Should be a more family-friendly version of AE featuring "Stitch" from the movies.
At Epcot, a clone of the "Soarin'" attraction from DCA is under construction. Should open some time in '05.
Also in '05 an automotive stunt show will open at Disney Studios.
Finally, AK has Expedition Everest under construction. Should be a pretty spectactular rollercoaster ride through a mountain being constructed at AK. I believe this one will open in 2006.
Other than Mission Space and Philharmagic, there have been some other minor changes lately. The ones that come to mind are:
- New film in China pavilion at Epcot.
- Other city facades being added to "New York Street" at Disney Studios.
- New show at the Diamond Horseshoe in MK.
- The Living Seas is getting the "Nemo" treatment with splashy graphics and displays that are really reinventing the pavilion. One popular rumor is that the pavilion may close for some period starting later this month so that animatronic characters from Finding Nemo can be installed.
- The Backlot Tour at DS has been down for about 3 months to reconfigure in conjunction with the Stunt Show construction. It is scheduled to reopen any day now.
