Can someone please tell me what is near Caribbean Beach Resort? What other resorts are next to it? We are staying there and plan on spending a day with friends of ours who live in FL...looking for a resturant close by kid friendly.

Well Caribbean Beach is almost right next to Downtown Disney. There are plenty of great resturants there. My suggestion would be Rainforest Cafe. It is great food and a fun experience for kids. But there are many other options, like the new T-Rex resturant. If your looking for resturants in the parks, Caribbean Beach is very close to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Your also very close to Disney's Boardwalk. There are multiple resorts around there (Swan and Dolphin, Boardwalk Villas Resort, Yacht and Beach Club, etc). Hope this helps!

Have a magical day.

If your friends have kids too, or even if they don't, I would suggest eating at a resort instead of DD, and ESPECIALLY not Rainforest or T-Rex. Both of those restaurants are crowded, loud, and tend to have long lines; not the best place to keep kids happy or allow for adults to catch up. Parking can also be difficult to find.

I've gotten roped into a "visit" at the DD RFC a couple of times, and both times it was a disaster because the adults could not hear themselves think, and the kids wanted to play with their cousins, not sit and behave in a crowded restaurant. (And we won't even mention the 4 yo who was frightened of thunder )

At a resort, especially one with a playground, the kids can play and run around while the adults catch up and maybe have a drink together. Restaurant service is usually faster, too, unless it is a character meal.
One place I like to recommend for meetings like this is Boatwrights at POR; it's not overly expensive, it is quiet and serves comfort food, and it is near POR's playground so that the kids can unwind and have fun after or before dinner while the parents chat. You can take a boat to POR from DD, that can be a fun little thing for kids, too. Shutters (right there at CBR) is also a good choice for occasions like this.

what about shutters at CBR? If not, I would suggest the BW area or hte fountain at the Dolphin could be nice too. Similar to B&C but larger and not as loud. Right next to the fantasia mini-golf too

If you have your own car, or a rental, then you can go just about anywhere on WDW property to meet your friends, assuming that they will be driving onto WDW property themselves? You can park at any resort at WDW to eat at the restaurant there, not sure if you have to have an ADR to get past the gate though.

If you don't have a car, It will be laborious to get to another resort by WDW transportation - I'd take a taxi if you plan on meeting at a different resort.

There's really no place you can walk to from CBR - the main roads do not have sidewalks, no crossing lights, and there could even be a stray alligator in the ditches on the sides of the road.
