If your friends have kids too, or even if they don't, I would suggest eating at a resort instead of DD, and ESPECIALLY not Rainforest or T-Rex. Both of those restaurants are crowded, loud, and tend to have long lines; not the best place to keep kids happy or allow for adults to catch up. Parking can also be difficult to find.
I've gotten roped into a "visit" at the DD RFC a couple of times, and both times it was a disaster because the adults could not hear themselves think, and the kids wanted to play with their cousins, not sit and behave in a crowded restaurant. (And we won't even mention the 4 yo who was frightened of thunder

)
At a resort, especially one with a playground, the kids can play and run around while the adults catch up and maybe have a drink together. Restaurant service is usually faster, too, unless it is a character meal.
One place I like to recommend for meetings like this is Boatwrights at POR; it's not overly expensive, it is quiet and serves comfort food, and it is near POR's playground so that the kids can unwind and have fun after or before dinner while the parents chat. You can take a boat to POR from DD, that can be a fun little thing for kids, too. Shutters (right there at CBR) is also a good choice for occasions like this.
