Hi everyone, I suffer from EXTREME blisters and have read on the Dis that moleskin is good but I can't find it here.. anyone know a similar product?

Thanks!

We went to Valhalla Pure and got a blister kit, not sure if it was moleskin or not but it was very similar. Not sure if you have Valhalla Pure where you live, but it is a hiking, skiing, kayaking etc store. They have really cool gadgets too.

Shopper's Drug mart in Ontario sells it under the Dr. Scholls brand. It is a square sheet of very soft leather like material with a glued backing on it. It works great I had the toes on my right foot blister in Las Vegas years ago and used it worked wonders. My DW uses it on her heels and swears by it.
We always pack some when heading to the World.
Wal-Mart carries it as well in the foot section of the phamacy.

Thankyou soo much...I know I sound brain dead here but it is Dr. Scholls moleskin?

Yes it is under the Dr. Scholl's label in the yellow and blue box. I don't know if Shopper's has it's own generic brand or if Wal-Mart has their own brand as well, never really looked :rotfl2:
Hope this helps.

Have you tried to prevent blisters by using Body Glide? This seems to work for our family. Body Glide is sold in various stores in Ontario. www.bodyglide.com to find a retailer near you.

The moleskin, do you put it on spots that you usually get blisters before the blister, or is if for after. How do you use it?

Thanks,

Deb.

I've bought moleskin at WalMart as well as some of the places already mentioned. I apply it to the places I normally get blisters and it then prevents the rubbing. I swear by it. I also use Blister Block on the rest of my feet because they are very sensitive.

I have bought moleskin at Shoppers and at WalMart. In both cases it was the Dr. Scholl's brand in a box. In Shoppers it is located with the foot care items. In WalMart it is in the pharmacy area also with the foot care items.

I purchased the Walmart brand moleskin and found it didn't adhere nearly as well as the Dr. Scholl's brand. That stuff lasted through swimming and showers and I still had a hard time peeling it off!
We apply it when we begin to feel a "hot spot" developing on our feet. It truly is great stuff to have in your bag at the parks.

I've bought Body Glide here in Canada and "Running Room", it's a sporting good store.

Body Glide looks like a stick of deodorant, but you rub it liberally on your feet, and heel then but your socks on, it will precent chafing, and blistering.

Worked pretty well for us.

We were out in the Queen Charlotte Islands (Haida Gwaii) BC and I wrecked my feet by walking and hiking on some of the trails on the beach- sand + water!! My DH's uncles recommended Moleskin (military) and they said it was the only thing that got them through basic training. But... there was no moleskin found on the island. :confused3 Because of blisters I couldn't walk for 2 days. Now I pack it EVERYTIME we travel. It has been a lifesaver! :thumbsup2 I buy it at Shoppers Drugmart & Pharmasave.

I bought Body Glide at Mark's Work Warehouse.

I haven't used it. I did get blisters last year as I wore through my Crocs. Not sure if it would have helped for that. I'll be sure to check my Crocs for wear this year.
